I guess that's true. Fans do care about the hall, but most just don't get the same bragging rights, or pee-pee contests like they like to get with championships. ;)

I think you're missing the point -- fans care if we're in contention, not if we're just always winning championships.

In fact, I dread the thoughts of the bandwagon fans that will come out as soon as we get ridiculously powerful like the GSWs.

Granted, I'd love us to win championships -- but I still prefer an underdog story even if we don't get far.

I'll put it this way -- if 13 pts in 33s was a post-season game, I'd say that changes my opinion on TMac drastically, and he'd also change his own opinion of himself as well. If he was part of the post-season of 2009, where we stretched out a 7-game series against the eventual champions, I'd also change my opinion of him drastically.

My thing against TMac is this: The most memorable moments of all his post-seasons are on the bench!

That's where my problem is with him. I don't care if we win a chip. But I care if you're gonna put us on the map or not.

The thing with him is his career got cut short....

started to decline when he was 27, 28 and retired only 33, 34 or something.

Would had at least some more playoff runs, even if that meant more 1st round runs.

yes, that's unfortunate. if we blame it on health, though, there's plenty of players out there who deserve our sympathy too.

i remember being a huge fan of Yao because he really tried to give it his all. i knew that was the end when he got that injury in 09. maybe because of that, i end up comparing TMac to Yao.

it's pretty ironic, all of this.
