Presidential elections have always been about voting for the lesser of two evils. Like it or not, we're not switching out of a two-party system for a long time.
Proof: Every single person who voted for Obama in 2008 now sees what a horrible choice that was. But more importantly they now see that Mitt Romney is GREAT!!!!! Everyone loves Mitt!!!!!! He'll win 100% of the vote.

Brainwashed? No. Competent when it comes to issues that touch millions? Yes. Tolerant of differences and struggles among all? Yes. Smarter than what Romney is trying to portray himself as? Completely. Obama isn't so bad, when you consider his view of society, women and the future. If you want a businessman in the WH, go ahead and waste your vote on a man that belongs on Wall Street.
You left out how many Republicans are now voting Democrat because their party is drifting so far right it's no longer recognizable.
