It's possible they end up trading Swift before the season starts, if they can find a trading partner as stupid as the Rockets.

    Stupid?

Stro still has value in this league - so I will not be surprised if he is traded (I actually expect him to be traded) by the Griz at the 60 days waiting period. I believe they have to wait 60 days or until Dec 15th.

Stromile could fetch a conditional first round pick from a team like San Antonio or even multiple second round picks or a serviceable NBA player. West is a savvy GM - he would get something good for him.

A team only has to wait if a player is combined with another player. If the Battier deal is completed on July 12th, Stro can be traded independently as soon as the ink is dry. And he will be.

If you can't take the started spot from Howard, you don't need a fair shot.

if the griz wanted to get gay so badly, we should've forced them to take juwan also not swift, but we all know how much jvg loves the sunglasses thief

I read somewhere recently that Swift's name popped up as bait to be involved in the 3 team deal involving Iverson....

You know, the thing with with players like Swift & Gay is regardless of how they pan out, there are always trade partners for them because of their potential....why we gave up two of those pieces for Battier? I don't know...

That mode looks bleak with our weak line up. Can we really contend now since we have BATTIER??? I think not...

I can't post a new thread. But if this scoop is true, I will be thrilled!

Houston Trades #8 and Swift for Mike James and Shane Battier!

Keep this in mind: So now that Swift is stubbornly refusing to go back to Memphis - and a player has 36 hours to report after a trade or the trade is rescinded.

Wouldn't most love the trade to be rescinded if there isn't more of the trade?

If that report is true, and it's probably not considering the source......Then I'd guess Memphis would just waive the physical and accept the deal anyways. Remember when we traded Jim Jackson to the Hornets a few years ago? He never reported, but that trade still went through.

Swift wouldn't have to report, or not report until 36 hours after July 12.

The Rockets betrayed Stromile Swift. He signs with us for the MLE and then he hardly gets any playing time. On top of that the rockets trade him back to his original team. Why would any free agent want to sign with us for anything less than max money?

This is why I never get mad a players for leaving a team for a better offer somewhere else. Teams treat the players like cattle anyway so why shouldn't they get theirs?

Odds are Logo will just take Stro and trade him to get a contributor.

I don't think Stro was ever given a defined role and it hurt his production. But at the same time all he had to do was play hard and get JVG's respect.
    They just don't fit together.

For the amount of money they make, playing hard should never be wished for, but expected, knuckle head time is over in H-Town.

I would have liked more time for him but we need to move on, yet here i am hoping for JR Smith

No,absolutely untrue.Stro has acted in an unprofessional manner.Like I said he wanted the money and a free ride to a title or two(while he loafs through it all).Swift needs to grow up.
