I wasn't asking a question, but in any case I don't disagree at all. I really like Rudy but he and CD were spending unwisely during his tenure.

However, a positive benefit with us still having CD is that we still retain free agent goodwill - we honor commitments to big paydays at the end of bargain contracts. Who knows, that may have come into play here.

the crack on swift is that he has not lived up to his potential. in houston, there will be less pressure to live up to his draft status. also, players improve under jvg. look at t-mac. hell, look at cato. if 20minutes @ 10pts an 9 rebounds is what he starts at, then he can only go up.

and he is 25 and doesn't jack up 9 3's a game. word.

also looking forward to see what head and glover bring to the team next season.

    nice work cd, jvg.

doc rocket, can you tell us early that inside dope about jvg that you promised would come in september.

this website comes in handy when you don't have job.

WOOOOOTTT!!! It is time for SWIFT to show us what he got! But i think this is an EXCELLENT acquisition. I mean now he has Juwan Howard who can mentor him as well. He didn't have that luxury over at Memphis. So we have Mutumbo for Yao, and now Howard for Swift - this is SWEET!!!

    I am LOVING this!! :D :D

If 25 isn't young then I guess McGrady and Yao are old men since they're close to that age. 25 is young, and some players take longer to blossom. Again, people are in a do something now age where they want someone to produce right off the bat or they're called underachievers. We'll see with Swift, but the guy is only 25 years old, that's even close to prime years, prime years are considered 28 to 32 so how is 25 years old not young!?

I don't think Sura is trash, the Rockets need to keep him. They can get rid of the other guys though!

Talk about bargain deals! SAR for MLE, and Swift and MLE? I am wondering whether we would be better off getting SAR for the MLE. But I am excited about getting Swift anyway.

Now, let's move a couple of expiring contract to get help on backcourt.

i just gotta say....thank god swift won't be dunking on Yao anymore....him, tracy and head would make a nice athletic group that the team was missing last year....this is good news.....now if we could trade Sura/Wesley/Barry/Ward.....for Stoudemire

well, pgabriel, I have some doubts on exactly how well swift will do as well. -- But considering he is only getting the MLE, even if he busts out and becomes MoT #2, it's probably still a fair value contract for a 10/6/2 big man, do you agree?

regardless how swift plays out, I gotta give kudos to CD. bringing swift in with only MLE is gotta be one of the best signings this off season so far
