Wow, with Damon S coming to town, I'm guessing we solidified 4 of the 5 positions. By the way, not to be off-topic....who is going to be our starting SG?

    PG - Damon S/Sura/M. James/Head
    SG - ?/Sura/Barry
    SF - T-Mac/Barry
    PF - Swift/J. Howard
    C - Yao/Mutombo

    i don't believe it.....

is this really true? i feel like he will take it back or something.

give it up for CD! his comment of not making a S&T might have forced swift to take the offer.

Yeah, saying CD has earned every bit of praise he will receive for the rest of the off-season is an understatement. That dude got the damn job done!!

Most of y'all know I'm not the biggest fan of Swift. The fact that he chose to take less money to play for Houston raises him a few notches in my book though. :)

barryxzz, the posts were so close that to me doesn't even matter. What matter is we have Swift! This bodes well for the Houston Rockets organization to convince quality free agents to want to come to this team. I'm just hoping this is just the beginning.

I never wanted Swift. I didn't like his lazy attitude. I didn't like the fact that he didn't hustle to get rebounds. I especially didn't like the fact that he was asking for a MoT-type 8-9mil dollar contract.

That said, now that we've signed him for the MLE when others were offering more.....HELL YEEEAAAHHH, BABY! SIGN ME UP FOR THE STROMILE SWIFT FAN CLUB! I LOVE YOU CD! WE'RE GONNA BE CHAMPS!

EDIT: Holy crap, I've got to change me sig.

I just noticed something when i re-read that article. it says swift is 6-10, yet almost everything else I've read lists him as 6-8 and nba.com (i just checked:D) lists him at 6-9. Anyone know how tall he actually is?

Still stoked that we got him, regardless of his height...

why should we go after stoudamire? i mean he would be a good point guard for us... but we need to get bigger and more atheletic at the 2. sura is old and cant shoot too well... wesley is a streaky shooter and short as hell for the sg, and head is a rooke so i wouldnt put in all my chips on him either. if at all possible... we ought to work out a situation so that we could trade some guards for a more atheletic 2.

if we cant do that... hopefully dermarr johnson would take the LLE

So was Sam Bowie. Anyway I do agree that he's probably worth the MLE. So it isn't that much of a risk considering the contract, and even if he doesn't improve, he will still be tradeable at that price.

Not a bad signing all things considered.

That would explain why the Rockets are going all out for Damon Stoudamire! They have their PF in the fold, now lets get Stoudamire in here and make a run at a championship! :D

Sam Bowie also had a career ravaged by injuries that hurt his potential.

does anyone remember the dunk last year Swift had on Yao? it was all over ESPN. at least we never have to worry about that again. and from what i'm hearing in summer league, with him and Head we have people to get some lobs to nowadays.
