Starts tonight at 7pm CST. I've watched every episode of every season and can't wait for this one to start. I started watching the first season when my wife was pregnant and on bed rest with my daughter who is now 9 years old. Now she loves watching the show with me. Personally I like the social dynamics of the show starting right before the tribes merge and through the rest of the game. Surviving for a month or two with bare essentials also appeals to me and I'd love to give it a try. Looks like they've cast some eye candy and another person set on making life horrible around camp. Survivors ready.... Go!
Yeah this is pretty much the only reality show I watch, for the same reasons you mentioned. Well, I'm going to give Ultimate Fighter another chance this year as well. Wish it came on in the summer though when nothing else is on. It goes from nothing to watch to too much to watch.
No kidding. Me and the wife really enjoy the show and got sucked in season 3 and have watched everyone since and the old ones on VS. when they showed them a few years back. Always good stuff!
i watch a lot of crappy reality TV...well, some of it at least. American Idol, Top Chef, Next Food Network Star, Kid Nation, now Shark Tank, first few seasons of Trump's show, blah blah blah (prob. some others) But I've still never seen a single Survivor episode. Seems weird considering how long it has lasted..
That is kind of odd, we watch a ton of crap and Survivor is probably the cream of the reality crop, reason it keeps pulling in solid numbers year after year.
I watched the original season and thought it was pure genius. Then I didn’t watch it again until last season, but I really enjoyed last season. Regardless of how you feel about reality TV, Survivor is really well done. The games are always original, the scenery is amazing, and I actually really like the music. Only part I hate is when it gets down to like the final 2 or 3 and they do that dramatic walk to remember all the people voted off. That’s a little over the top…. Oh, and I watch Top Chef too. That show is awesome.
Couldn't agree more. It bothers me that good quality shows like "Survivor" and "Amazing Race" get lumped into the same category as junk like "Cheaters" and "The Bachelor". Not all Reality TV is created equal. Some of it can be really compelling and entertaining without being completely trashy.
Amazing Race starts next Sunday I believe ... Never missed survivor before and been looking forward to it for awhile. Guess the next Survivor is going to be All Stars from what I understand.
Anybody get the feeling that this new villain Russell is a plant? No one is that over the top. I'll bet the producers told him to act that way
Yup. Seems more and more like the Mole. Maybe this will be a big surprise at the reunion show? I love Survivor and have not missed an episode in the past four years, but the show's getting out of hand with the recruited contestants. Apparently on one of the recent seasons every single contestant was told to apply by a recruiting agent. Some hadn't even seen a single episode! There are plenty of die-hard fans out there who would die to play the game, but keep getting passed up in favor of pretty blondes and quitters who want to go home half way, or someone like this Russell dude here, who makes for great TV but does not play for the same goal as everyone else: to win.
I've only seen one episode, and it was the very first one. They ran off the old lady. Can't say I've seen many other episodes since.
Yeah, this Russell guy is either a plant or one of the stupidest players ever. Everyone knows you don't start playing until halfway through the season. Usually the 1st ones to start playing hard are the 1st ones to get sent home. Oh, and I like how he says he owns an oil company in Houston. Yeah right...
Don't think he's a plant, I just think he's a moron. Considering he's pretty said everything he's lying most of the time I wouldn't believe anything he says, including his oil company ownership...
If he's not a plant, then he's definitely playing the game to get famous. Look at Jonny Fairplay, or even Sugar from Gabon.
Yeah, most of the jobs people in reality shows say they do are not based in reality at all. Usually: Entrepreneur = unemployed Corporate Consultant = unemployed Freelance Writer = unemployed Executive Sales Manager = telemarketer High School Principal = school bus driver And so on, and so on. So it wouldn’t surprise me if: Oil company owner from Houston = nightshift cashier at local Chevron
