Multiple sources and the bill itself shows that your information about where that money was going is wrong.

I wouldn't be mad at the Media Matters site(which got it correct.) But wherever you got your information from(which was wrong.)

I see lots of "discussion" from you.

Back to your typical display of intelligence through name calling or in this case insults. Nice of you to stay on your arrogant high horse.

You sir, provide nothing and thus deserve nothing(unless of course Obama is president).

When you're clearly and stupendously wrong, you'd do better to just fess up.

Why do you deserve any "discussion" - you consistently make dumb analogies that are not applicable ("the government is like me balancing a checkbook!), propose illogical solutions that would achieve the opposite result ("we need to cut spending to end this slump in demand!"). None of your ideas make any sense and seem to be borrowed from standard sloganeering dogma - you cant lecture people on budget deficits and then clamber for tax cuts - but you do. Then you contradict yourself by saying that if you got a tax cut, you wouldn't spend it.

Economic know nothigism may make for good slogans but it's not a way to run a country - trust me we tried for the last 8 years and look where it got us.

When you make stupid arguments, people are going to call you stupid. if that makes them arrogant I guess that's something we will have to deal with.

Yes it does. But it doesn't mean that the site is wrong, when the facts are correct. Your fact is wrong, so throwing out a name doesn't really change anything.

This is why I like you to comment because you like to put words in other peoples mouths and then insult them for "their" comments.

    Things I never said.

"The government is like me balancing a checkbook"
"we need to cut spending to end this slump in demand"

I never contradicted myself by saying if I got a tax cut I wouldn't spend it. I would only be practicing what I preach, fiscal responsibility for the money that I control.

Again you resort to lies, misrepresentation of facts and insults.... all tactics of the mentally incompetent.

Since you can only use those losses to offset capital gains (although I agree they could up those amounts), I don't know how much good it would do. At least I have some losses to spread out over the next few years.

No - the max $3000 in capital losses is used to offset regular income. Capital gains can be offset to an unlimited amount by capital losses. For example, let's say you had:

$100,000 in cap losses in 2008
$90,000 in cap gains in 2009

You'd deduct $3,000 from your 2008 adjusted gross income, and carry over $97,000 to your 2009 taxes. Then in 2009, you have $90k in gains and $97k in carryover losses, so you deduct $3,000 from your 2009 AGI, and carry over the remaining $4k to 2010.

In my proposal of being able to deduct $20k, you'd deduct $20,000 from your 2008 adjusted gross income, and carry over $80,000 to your 2009 taxes. Then in 2009, you have $90k in gains and $80k in carryover losses, so you'd have $10k in Cap Gains for 2009.

So in that scenario, you'd get a bigger tax refund this year but then pay more in taxes next year. I guess you'd pay a lower rate if they were long-term gains instead of short-term gains though, so it could have some cost to the government.

Whoops...forgot about the part where if there is still a loss you can do the $3000. (un)fortunately, it's been a while since I had a loss.

Your accusing someone of drinking the cool-aid when they've provided facts and evidence to back it up.

You provided a myth, and have absolutely no evidence to back it up.

Instead every single post you've made since it was shown that your ACORN myth wasn't true, has been to attack people irrelevant to the facts, or to accuse other posters of drinking the cool-aid.

Your attacks should be directed to whoever fed you that BS that the money was going to ACORN.

Usually when someone feeds me a line of BS I go after them, and not the people who do me the favor of pointing out that it was BS.

Unless of course you enjoy swallowing BS. If that's the case, then have fun.

And not a single credible will mention ACORN. Which is why you've run away from the issue instead of showing any of these "sources".
