Not entirely. But certainly it is an important part of the future of our economy. We've seen what has happened in other countries when faced with very similar situations. We've seen what happened when the stimulus packages were lacking, and misdirected. The result was an economic fiasco that doomed the country for longer than a decade.

It would be foolish to follow that same model.

Because it's a revised version of previous bills. Have you heard of this techology called "track changes"?

Agreed! That is why it does not need to be rushed through.

This is a revised version of the same bill that has been on the table for weeks, that Republicans already voted against and will continue to vote against.

I will do it if you will make the argument that additional spending does not provide an additional demand-side stimulus.

Exactly. Is this so hard for people to understand?

The hypocrisy in here is stifling. I think I'll find another barrel full of fish to shoot.

Do you think Frank Lautenberg, age 85, is familiar with the 'track changes' function in Word? Please. Only a bottom-of-the-food-chain legal grunt, such as yourself (prior to being canned), would have professional experience with such a rote task as comparing changes in a memo. The bill is over 1,000 pages long. Even a 'track changes' review would take a substantial amount of time. Furthermore, it's ridiculous to rely on 'track changes' when you are voting on an $800 billion matter. You'd better read every word -- especially when dealing with lying, two-faced snakes like Nancy Patricia D'Alesandro Pelosi, Harry Mason Reid and of course Barack Hussein Obama.

yes, in fact I call him up with Excel questions all the time. Merged cells and the like. He's quite good at it. Or else he may just have a staff, or else I'm guessing that the compromise committee ACTUALLY TELLS the respective houses what changed when House and Senate bills are reconciled.

This thread is like a vortex of stupid. I can't believe i have responded so much. I give up.

Most threads where your contributions represent over 20% of the posts would fit that description.

I have never argued against this.

I argue that any time somebody wants to spend away the future of my children that a couple more days to look it over can't be too much to ask. I also do NOT believe that the future of our economy hangs on this stimulus package.

Congress got us into this mess with their lack of vision and foresight and I do not believe that they have the vision and foresight to "spend our economy back into shape".

We are in this mess because people want more than they work for and proving to the American people that the government is no better and can spend more than they "make" is a mistake.

Ask not what your country can do for you
