overall i agree but im not really impressed with sura's passing. he seems to be the perfect mobley esque 6th man type of a player htat would be good for hte second team. there are still times with yao/tmac on the floor with good positioning where he forces things. and yesterday for the most part it was working but in the last 5 minutes of the game i'd be more comfortable witht he ball in tmacs and yao (given that he's good positioning) hands.
seeing this team play over the past month has been wonderful. I cant recall being this happy with the way the team is playing since the days of Hakeem. All thats missing really is Yao learning how to combat fronting and catching the lob entry pass. I am simply amazed how good T-Mac is, granted he probably had one of his worst shooting nights as a rocket yesterday but he has not disappointed in the least this year. The man can do it all. Sura has been a gem and the addition of Barry and Wesley has given this team a much needed shot in the arm. These hard nose players like Sura,Wesley and Barry have really given this team an identity. Our role players are started to fill their roles and you can see sometihng special developing. The thing that has pleased me the most is that this team is not doing anything to beat themselves (silly TOs, poor shot selection) like in the past years. Their execution on both ends of the court have been great. Even if the other team has a 10point lead going into the fourth this year, unlike years of past, I feel that regardless of the team the Rockets can make a push to win the game or in the least make it much closer and hard fought. I cant wait for the home stretch this year to see how these guys do.
I have been in "ball-movement" heaven for the last few weeks. What a difference. Yes, fundamentals are good. Five "eternal" years of dribblemania was all most too much to bear. But just a few weeks ago, Ming looked utterly lost, in a deep funk. Let's hope he maintains his focus, and let's hope the rest of the team maintain their intensity. This team isn't among the elite, but any given night they might win. That is exciting. And they are entertaining to watch. That has not been true of the Rockets for a long, long, long time. So often when the Rockets won in recent years I used to think, "that was one of the ugliest games I have ever seen." At present, I am a happy fan. If the Rockets keep playing like they are, win at least fifty, and scare somebody in the playoffs, I will consider it a successful season. Next year, the bar is raised.
hahaha Willis i will assume that Barry is Master Shake (because he's always in the middle of everything), Sura is Frylock (hes the leader), and Wesley just sorta looks like Meatwad is that how you had put them into their categories?
I agree, this is the first time in many years I have seen the Rockets move the ball so beautifully. They are getting amazing looks at the basket because of their great vision and passing. I think were headed in the right direction!
