This is actually what the TV series Alias is trying to tell us in code: Sura is the super-child of a CIA development program using technology developed by Milo Rambaldi centuries ago, and has been planted on the Rockets to combat his Chinese half-brother Yao Ming, who was developed by Chinese secret military program with the same Rambaldi technology. So all of this was foretold centuries ago in the writings of Rambaldi and will come to an exciting conclusion in the Finals this year....

OK I'm making up that last part about the finals.

And JVG is that grey haired evil guy who is now running the CIA program even though he was the secret enemy the first couple of seasons....

Sura has a positive impact on the team overall, but that has been exaggerated by his worshippers. They flash out "after Sura comes back the team record is such" card and take things at face value. In fact this team didn't really take off before trading Jim Jackson, if Sura is the savior of the Rockets, why the hell we traded Jimmy for? Since trading JJ and Boki for David Wesley, the Rockets have played .700 basketball (14-6). We have scored 98+ points in 11 of those 20 games and even scored 110+ points in 5 of them. How about telling us the record of the Rockets between Sura's starting playing and the Jimmy trade?

The record before Sura reflects how poor Ward and Lue were, it's just like last year when Cato went down the Rockets defense went down by a landslide, and people thought he was the savior of Rockets defense, while in reality it's more about the bad defense of MoT and Weatherspoon, plus lack of backup C.

Sura's inability at making outside shots and playing out of control at times need better improvement. I won't add making better entry passes on the list, because 9 of 10 I'd be regarded by the Sura worshippers as a YOF. Some losers fail to recognize that one can be a Yao fan as well as a Rockets fan at the same time.

As for criticizing Sura after a solid game, well, welcome to the Francis and Yao treatment.;)

Just got back into town, checked the board -- I guess I havn't missed much:

    * Rockets continue to play great

    * Sura is playing outstanding team basketball

    * People with absolutely zero basketball acumen continue to start stupid threads

Do yourself a favor and get on amazon.com and purchase the book "Basketball For Dummies"

Wow, Sura is playing great ball. At this rate, Francis won't be missed. Just hope he gets his knee better.

Well, I hope the finished lakers game will settle the issue once and for all about Sura's passing.

Sura DOES pass to Yao but since he isn't a pure PG, he doesn't feel as comfortable when Yao's got a defender draped on him. It was evident when Sura tried a pass into the post that got knocked away. So for Yao to get a pass, he has to be *more open with Sura than other guards. Yao did a good job of that tonight so hence he received a lot of passes from Sura. There's no hard feelings about any of it. I doubt Sura and Yao hate each other or what not. It's just a comfort level thing and this should be resolved since the Rox are gelling a lot better. Strickland obviously finds Yao all the time and I think JVG used Strickland to get Yao into the flow today and then took him out when his job was done.

Sura brings a lot of energy that the rockets need so lets just end this discussion with a group prayer that Charlie Ward never gets back into the starting lineup.
