It was more like 10.5/6/5 but yes he was huge and one of only a few in the NBA who averaged 10/5/5 that year
So what do the hundreds of arm chair doctors on the forum have to say now? Everyone knows the people that kept posting dozens of times "Sura is done." And these same people jumping all over and attacking anyone that asked where they got this info from.
I have told everyone on here for months that he is coming back now maybe folks will belive me on this.
Exactly the few of us who kept saying he would come back would just get bombarded with hateful posts and being told what a dumazz you are etc. But I know I must have asked about 100 times has anyone here EVER heard ONE person from the Rockets organziation say he wasn't playing? Has anyone here EVER heard the doctors say his injury was career ending? Instead of anyone saying yes, all I ever got was dozens of responses like "you are an idiot."
Ummm, in the article Bonzi says he wants to play and JVG says he wants to hold him out a bit and get him more healthy.
There is a difference between a wrong guess and repeatedly fabricating a false story. The statements about Sura were opinions that were based on his old (basketball) age and the fact he missed an entire season. The Rockets admitted to being surprised he didn't retire, so why shouldn't everyone else be surprised? Besides, the armchair doctors could still end up being correct. In the short interview I heard, Sura didn't exactly brim with confidence. If he can help the team off the bench, more power to him. But it's been almost 18 months since he's played NBA basketball and he's 33 years old.
Bonzi isn't playing for 2 reasons: 1. He has only practiced with the team a few times. 2. Groin injuries are notorious in the way that they can linger or get re-aggravated. Once he's gotten a couple more practices under his belt, JVG will turn him loose.
First of all hasn't played in 18 months is false. He hasn't played an NBA game in that time. He actually began playing back in March. Also being 33 and having microfracture is exactly about what Webber and Kidd did and they had no ended careers. Third, Sura did not have the surgery until SEPTEMBER of last year, so he hasn't been 18 months recouping from the microfracture it is only 14 months, and he coud NOT begin rehab until DECEMBER of last year because he had back surgery November. TRUTH he is only 1 year into rehab in this December and 1 year off is normal for that microfracture. In other words, there was nothing logical about the opinions by 90 percent of the board that he was done, it was the 10 percent saying he wasn't that was being logical.
So the Rockets were "illogical" too and they knew more about his condition than anyone on this forum, including you. I said, "it's been almost 18 months since he's played NBA basketball". What exactly is false about that statement?
It's misleading in a way. he actually was playing against NBA players as early as last March. The Rockets never said anything about he was done, they said they figured he would just take the money and quit, then they all remarked again how him not doing that just further proves the heart, will and dedication that he has. This forum seems to usually interpret what others say wrongly.
Misleading? To who? I have no idea what you are talking about. Read. JVG said the Rockets expected to keep Jacobsen and for Sura to retire. Is that enough for you? Is anything? There is no misinterpretation. Again, what are you talking about? Nobody has questioned Sura's heart and will. That's a straw man created by you. He's a proven legit tough guy. He's play mean when he's on the court and plays hurt. But that won't help him if his body can't go, otherwise he wouldn't have had the setbacks in his recovery. You act as if his character is being attacked. It isn't but maybe that's how you see it (for some reason). I think most of us know where the "interpretation" problem is. I'm rooting for him but if he doesn't come back, that's OK too. I love the jersey more than the player. I've loved the Rockets before Sura and will do so long after he's gone. What he did for us in 04/05 was great, and we would have beaten the Mavs if he and Wesley weren't hobbled. Probably would have beaten the Suns too. Go Sura, we love ya and respect ya; but more importantly: GO ROCKETS!
This is my first post about sura. Why you ask? Because I am not his trainer, hence do not understand the situation fully. What the press tells us is definitely debatable and sometimes extremely vague. You can never say your interpretation of the text is corect and what others say is false. Nobody means everything they say. This doesn't exclude the rockets organization.
No JVG said that the Rockets figured he would just take the money since he would get paid without having to go through the rehab. This forum keeps taking statements out of context. Mine, other posters, members of the Rockets, etc.
I did leave the forum. Like I said, I left the forum because the conversation was extremely rude and out of line. Particularly people like you accusing me of being some crazy wacko that stalks this board and has been banned mutiple times. Apparently the fact that I am not banned escapes you. So yes I simply decided to leave the forum and go to bed as it was just not worth being insulted so much.
Well for now, your prophesy has not come true yet. Anything can still happen. Word to JVG - let Bonzi play himself back to shape. He will not necessarily get better conditioning with the next few days practice sessions. I know you are doing this tough love thingy - drop it and lets get down to business. Bonzi is a special circumstance and should be treated like wise if youwant to get something meaning from him on a consistent basis. Play him only 5-10 minutes. Even if it is gabbage time. Completely running him out is not the way to go imo. At least this way he gets a quasi head-start. I selfishly want him to be ready for the Dallas game. Dallas and Phoenix have become the top two teams I hate to lose to.
I have been stating all along - since before the pre season - that Wells would not be in the lineup for the opener... I smell success. Dont usaully get to do that with my predictions, so im gonna enjoy this one.
