So Waaaay back on page 4 of this thread I made a post that was directly related to the thread topic and nobody seemed to care. It involved several polls that showed that the American people still think Obamacare is a crap sandwich and don't like it, and that at least in some polls a majority supported repealing the law in whole or in part. I sorta thought it was relevant to the topic at hand, I guess no one else did. More important to derail the thread and make it about one of CF's handful of resident conservatives, I guess.

So, let's try something new. Read, and enjoy your government hard at work.

Congress wins relief on Obamacare health plan subsidies

Obamacare for thee, but not for me... If this doesn't bother you then there is something seriously wrong with you.

I'm not upset by the discussion in the manning thread. I do find it odd when people start hurling insults.

I'm happy for you that your life has been going well. But people can see evidence differently than you. They can believe in a different set of objectives for the United States than you. They can believe the United States has made decisions that were mistakes even when you don't. That doesn't make anyone a traitor. Just like it doesn't make you a traitor for having different opinions than them.

I am not going to derail this thread any further. We turned a freaking Obamacare thread into an Iraq war thread. Why? Mostly because people made personal attacks against me and I tend to defend myself... But whatever.

Is anyone going to talk about Obamacare?

I used to be a federal employee and the only thing I miss is the FEHB. The plans and premiums are fantastic. I wouldn't want to lose it either, so I don't blame them.

But surely if Obamacare is good enough for us, it is good enough for them? If we're all going to just love it when it fully rolls out, then shouldn't they love it, too?

I happen to agree that everyone in the country should have the same access to healthcare that our elected officials have.

I started this thread, and I'm requesting that a mod lock it. It's become toxic and distracting.

Nice. And the actual counterarguments are cancelled, just as the thread begins to get back on topic...

I don't think I was the one to bring up Iraq, simply responding to your response to someone else's post, but you sitting there calling Democrats, a party which I happen to belong to, traitors or naive and deluded... what is that but a personal attack on every Democrat on this board? I certainly took it personally. What pains me is that back then, when you were getting ready to deploy, I wished you well, as I wished all our men and women going over there well. One may disagree with government foreign policy, but to have anything but respect for the men and women who are willing to put their lives on the line for those of us at home, those who serve honorably, is stupid, absurd, short-sighted, and pisses me off. I've been a strong supporter of national defense here, not always agreeing with decisions on weaponry and policy, but always wanting us to easily be the strongest power on the planet. You bet calling me either a traitor, or deluded and naive, is going to get me angry.

Frankly, treeman, I think you should rescind that comment and apologize. How you can feel that way is a complete mystery to me. I have members of my family who fought in WWII and Korea, and were Democrats. I have friends drafted and sent to Vietnam, who served honorably, even if they disagreed with the war, and were Democrats. I have relatives who served in Iraq. What you said was a terrible insult.

I am not going to apologize for a damned thing. I said how I feel and I meant it. I believe that the party's leadership are traitors as are some of the rank and file, but I think most of the rank and file are simply naive but mean well. That is my perception and I am not going to apologize for it.

You guys REGULARLY heap all sorts of ridiculous slurs on conservatives and republicans. We hate poor people, we hate minorities, we want to starve and kill old people, we want to destroy the environment, we want people to lose their health insurance, we are racists who only care about white people and big business, blah blah blah. Dish it but can't take it. Don't lay that sanctimonious BS on me, I don't buy it.

Oh, and thanks again for keeping on topic.

What complete bull****. Sure, paint every Democrat with a brush broad enough to extend from one coast to another. What happened to you? You may as well put me on ignore, treeman, because if I see posts like those I have responded to, you are going to hear the same thing from me. That's a pity, as I've hoped in the past that you would return, and said so here. One should obviously be careful of what he wishes for.

Ah, so now you wish I would have died in Iraq? Real mature...

Cry me a freaking river. I am simply using the same brush that you and all of the other liberals use to regularly slander me and other conservatives. If you can't take it then don't dish it.

    Just reading what you wrote.

That's a pity, as I've hoped in the past that you would return, and said so here. One should obviously be careful of what he wishes for.

How am I supposed to take that? If you meant "return from Iraq" then I interpreted it correctly, and if you simply meant "returned to the boards" then I didn't. Your meaning is unclear. Not that I really care...

FWIW I don't think that you personally are a traitor. Just naive and deluded.

Off to work. Enjoy the stimulating discussion of the merits and popularity of Obamacare. ;)

Man, your paranoia is rediculous. How could you read my post and think anything other than I wished that you would return to the board? Do you just naturally see everyone, excepting a few here sharing your apparent political bent, as the enemy?
