Aye, I updated this morning... weighed myself last night before bed and this morning upon waking and used the average. (I'm not really sure what you're supposed to do, but it seemed like it would be more 'true' than just the one.) It was my first update since starting, and it is probably mostly water, but I was still happy with the result.
If you walk over to my office, I can put a big muscle on you... or three. EDIT: FREE TACOS at JACK IN THE BOX on the 26th!!!!
Anyone else still doing this? I had a not so great weekend eating-wise because my nephew had a big birthday part and my sister made some pretty awesome food, and I missed going to the gym Monday. But I went today and yesterday, and today was the first time that it started feeling easy, so I'll have to mix up my exercises a bit to keep myself challenged and actually doing something worthwhile.
I am. I just do weekly weigh-ins. Easier to see real progress that way. So far I've done about an hour of cardio every day except for yesterday. My diet has been okay. Not great but not full of crap either. I've definitely stayed within my calorie range. I'm going to update my sig(for the first time in what? 4 years? lol). Maybe it'll help to keep me on track.
I lost a pound. Decent considering I celebrated a birthday and got engaged all in the past week...and kind of didn't pay attention to carbs or fat...or points...
Nah, I lost 3.2 pounds of "water weight," last week and .9 pounds of "real" weight. I do Weight Watchers, and weigh in each week exactly at 7:30am on Sat. mornings. I always say, if the scale shows I lost more than 2 pounds in a week, some of it's probably just water weight.
Weight Watchers has some yummy ice cream sandwiches! I did Weight Watchers after I had my baby and lost around 15lbs. It's annoying counting points. They have gooooood ice cream though.
I didn't know you were doing WW! I am too. I had a bad week too, exams and project stressing me out, but still lost a pound! This week will hopefully be better. I have been diligent in keeping track this week. The online journal is my friend.
I have a hard time losing weight because I just don't have time. Origianlly, I planned on going to the rec @ UH this summer before lab, but when I started doing that, I was too tired in lab to function (hurt grade) and then I have 4 hour break til my mcat prep class at night and if I do it then, ill be sleeping in class. and I get home from theree at about 9:30, by which time Im trying to do homework and the like and then I sleep late. I thought that during the summer Id have more time, but it feels like I don't. Its even worse during the school year, finding time. but I really need to do something. Suggestions? PS i joined the team, but I need to figure what to do. I want to lose about 40-50 lbs.
Hey, I go to UH as well. I guess the only key is to try to get as much sleep as you can. Most of the time I go to sleep around 11 (I live in the Quad) and wake up 7/7:30 to go to the Rec Center. On days I can make one of the fitness classes, I go to those instead and sleep in in the mornings. I imagine it's tough for you with so much on your plate, but I always love how I feel after a good night's sleep and a morning workout. I'm pondering signing up for a couple fitness trainer sessions this school year. Hayesfan, we should start sharing our low points ideas. I got my 10% goal last year but gained some of it back since then. Haven't quite re-reached it, but I'm tryin! Today at the meeting I lost 2, so I'm pretty happy with this past week. My mom and I are going power walking each morning this week (haha...that seems so old-ladyish to say), because I want her to see that walking fast will give her better results than just the leisurely walks she takes with my dad. But yeah, I love WW. I haven't tried their ice cream sandwiches but that sounds good. I like the Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches and the Dreyer's Real fruit bars. I think the fruit bars are 0 points. I try to mostly eat whole and fresh foods, but sometimes I like ice cream. :]
really? which hall? Im gonna be in taub next year. (are you in the honors college?) I used to go during the semester in the mornings and I too felt great, but towards the end of the day, I was wiped out... (I was a commuter at the time as well) and would pass out at night... anywho- I need some sort of strategy. Ill let yall know if I get a clue or if anyone has a suggestion, Id love to get some.
Bates. It's just so convenient to live there (the Quad) and have the Wellness Center at your fingertips. Also they put in coffee machines in the OB C3 late last semester. I get my daily dose of caffeine.
Bumpity. So how is everyone doing? I've been a little stuck, but am trying. This week has been kind of hard to get much cardio in because of a bunch of rain, but I have started hitting the weights and eating a ton better than when I started as a result. And the week before that I was getting in a ton of exercise but eating a lot more crappy than usual. Hopefully when the sun comes out everything will click. I've also started HIIT, so I'll be interested to see if that has any drastic effects.
I've lost 4pds just by making moderate lifestyle changes. I eat a salad for lunch (and watch what I put on it and the dressing I use) and try to do some kind of excercise everyday (even if it is just walking). Nothing real major but I'm happy with the 4 pds -- and with the next 2 pds I will be back under 200 -- shooting for around 175
I'm doing horribly, but I go back to the gym next week, and I intend to get a few sessions with a trainer for motivation. I hope to start seeing some progress soon.
