How is this not the dumbest post ever? Of corse you need stars.

Lol. Paul George is not a superstar. The Pacers can't handle the Rox. Not as overrated as Blazers, but still overrated. Put 'em in western conference, they don't go near as far in the playoffs.

A great team is made of lots of important pieces. A star player is just one of those pieces. Having one does not guarantee a successful team.

    Nope.

The only young Superstars in the NBA are LeBron, Durant, and Westbrook. Then you have aging or older superstars like Duncan, Wade, Kobe, Dirk, and Parker.

Guys that either win championships and or get their teams to the finals and or have been putting up big time numbers on big stages year in and year out _ not just for 3 months.

Yea but not many teams have won a championship without a star player. Maybe the Sonics back in the 70's but other that that _ I can't think of any...

Team defense is as good as the weakest link. Paul George is Pacers' best perimeter defender who gets the toughest assignment on opposition wing players.

Offensively you will not find another player who went from offensive liability to #1 option for a contending team in a short span of two years. It doesn't suppose to happen but it did. Great offensive players usually come in the league with most the necessary tools. PG had to work on his on the go and during off-seasons. This is the biggest reason why people are so highly on him.

Currently PG is #1 option offensively and the best perimeter defender on a team with best record, and by many's standards, that should propel him into the superstar status. Only question remains is his consistency.

All star yes. But superstar nope.

Kobe plus shaq those times were legit superstars though.

How i wish we had the same bench mob as those 2002 kings.

Paul George should never be mentioned in the same sentence as KD or Lebron

Paul George is the best player on the best team. Anyone on here trying to say he's overrated is an idiot. It's ok to admit other players are better than ours and other teams are better than the Rockets. It doesn't make you less of a fan if you accept truth.

Anyone trying to downplay the pacers is just going off of the two preseason games we won; cuz as usual with clutchfans recently, any rockets win is always so significant but a rockets loss is meaningless and circumstantial.

Chauncey Billups was the best player on the best team in basketball but that doesn't mean he was a top 3 player in the league. George is a great player but the love for him is extreme based on 22 games. What he is doing is no more impressive than what LMA is doing with the Blazers right now. Let's give it a full year.

What LMA is doing is impressive, I agree. But George was also the best player on a team that took the defending champs to 7 games in the conference finals.

And what you said about Billups is true but not valid. That's one example in the past god knows how many years. If that's the case then Morey would be chasing really good players to fill our team rather than stars.

First it was something like "the love for George is extreme based on just 10 games against Eastern Conference scrubs" to now "it's only 22 games." Never mind George has been doing it consistently from the latter end of last season. Never mind George has beasted against top teams like OKC, Spurs and even Clippers.

Let's just accept the fact that George is a rising star who is only going to get better. Nothing wrong in appreciating great talent. Better for all parties.

I don't think anyone is saying PG is overrated. I just don't think you hand a guy the superstar title after just having a good start to an NBA season. And personally _ I believe Roy Hibbert is the BEST player on that team and arguably the best all around center in the NBA...

Or we can just wait until the season is over when we will know whether or not he can sustain this level of play for a long period. A full season is a fair evaluation time.
