If you think that lineup was a top 8 lineup in the some of the strongest western conferences of all time, you are clueless.

Anyway, no point in arguing who's the bigger loser, neither of them has done anything in their career playoff wise. So since neither of them has done anything in the playoffs, you can only go by individual skill.

i guess fans here really want a superstar badly. don't have one, so name one.

kevin martin was, is not, and never will be a superstar. he is playing at an all-star level though right now and that's actually a great bargain.

you don't need ESPN to make you a superstar. westbrook wasn't that hyped by ESPN and he has made a name for himself as a superstar. it went from all KD to now 50-50.

even on mediocre teams, fans will recognize whether you are a superstar or not.

most fans acknowledge kmart as a great offensive player and give him props for that.

the only way for him to get near superstar status is if he becomes MAD CLUTCH like reggie miller since he is only known for offense. and to do that, he needs to perform in the playoffs and dominate in the playoffs.

    can't take a joke?

I think if he was really a superstar he could have got an 8th seed over the 42-40 Kobe/Odom/Smush Parker/Kwame Brown/Luke Walton Lakers imo

I just don't understand how melo has done nothing in the playoffs when martin hasn't led hs team to the playoffs yet and had good playoff performances. Until that happens ho can he be labeled a superstar?

T-Mac in his prime = superstar
    Kevin Martin = borderline All-NBA 3rd team

Well, by Space City's definition, T-Mac is not a superstar until he dominates in the playoffs. Never happened.

I hate T-Mac as much as anyone on this forum but there was no denying that he had the ability to lead average and terrible teams to the playoffs.

T-Mac did dominate in the playoffs, individually that is.

Personally i was thinking T-Mac was a superstar, but let me tell you how this thread has gone.

First, a superstar had to be able to close games. Since Martin has been closing the last 4 games, it was a superstar has to win championships. Lot of so-called superstars have never done that. Then it was a superstar had to at least be able to lead his team to the playoffs and dominate. Some superstars have not done that either, namely T-Mac. Although i think it's going to change a few more times, we are finally getting somewhere. ;)

I am more amazed that this thread has gone on this long, anyone who is not blind knows K-Mart is not a superstar. (Which doesn't mean he is not an elite scorer)

This is a hot topic. I feel it will be discussed at some point during the season through the media.

The point is that there's no difference between making it to the playoffs and failing miserably, which Melo has done over and over again, and not making it at all. And Martin has never had a good team like Melo has had. Martin, at no point in his career including this year, has had a team as good as Melo's.

what? there is a huge difference in just making it to the playoffs.

the kobes/tmacs/lebrons make the playoffs with just scrubs around them. you usually are considered a superstar even if you are one-and-out. that's why tmac was considered a superstar despite never getting past the first round.

failing in the playoffs is another story (moreso towards your legacy)

carmelo led his team to the playoffs in his rookie year for god sakes. kevin martin is NOWHERE near the caliber of player of melo. nowhere close. and that's why kmart has never led a team anywhere.

on a great team, he's at best a 3rd option.

Kevin Martin and Carmello Anthony are two totally different types of players

The only people Martin should be compared to are guys like Hamilton, Miller, Allen, Gordon, etc.

Ricky Pierce and Dale Ellis are some other players that had similar games to Martin.

    Only on clutchfans.

If you asked every GM in the NBA who they would rather I bet they would pick Melo.

If we could trade Martin straight up for Melo I think Morey would do it.

No. It's a hot topic on Clutchfans. It will get mentioned, IMO, on ESPN eventually.

There's a reason Kev have never been an all star. The reason is simply. He doesn't help his team win. And before you people's point out the winning streak. Name the teams we beat up on. That's his specialty, beating on crappy teams and disappearing against better ones. For the 100th time, he's a stat guy and he most def. DOESN'T have the heart of a champion.

I think he is a really good player but not a superstar.

He could really help a team out though.

Lowry, Martin, Melo, Scola, DeAndre Jordan.

& With the help of Morey that would look nice around Kevin Martin.

    Im just saying...
