    1. You can't play Harden and Parsons together. WE KNOW THIS...
    2. We are a league of copycats. There is not one way to win a ring. We need to find our own perfect mix of guys around Harden. It took Dallas years to find the right guys for Dirk. Keep shuffling Daryl!!!

Personally, the current starting 5 complements Harden skill set. Only problem is that they are not very good.

    PG (Bev)- 3 and D
    SF (Ariza)- 3 and D
    PF (Josh)- 3 and D
    C (Dwight)- D

Only problem is even with 4 defensive type players, Rox are not doing well on defense.

It's a problem when the coach gives the ball to 1 guy in isolation the whole game. It's too hard to play this way, they need a more systematic way of playing offense & basketball in general. It's starts with strong leadership on the sidelines.

The defensive scheme is terrible. Josh hasn't performed well but I think he has the desire to do well so I think he will play better. As anti-logical as this seems I think he needs more playing time even though he's down. I think he needs to get more pt to be comfortable. I wish he was a 3 and D lol Hes never been given the green light to shoot it until us and it may be too late for him to add that to his game but perhaps not.

Bev needs to shoot more. Let Dwight, Trev and Josh get the rebounds. Go ham. if you make 40% of your 3s then shoot it 10 times. thats over 1ppp but more importantly I want to see Bev become a threat. 40% on 4 attempts a game isnt very threatening.

The flow of the offense really is much better with DMO on there, back door screens something the Warriors are known for, DMO did them well too. He's a good setup man. Sigh, tragic hes not playing.

There is nothing new in this thread. The fact that Harden needs the ball has been talked about even before Lawson got here. Also, lumping Pippen in with Gasol, etc. as a "frontcourt playmaker" is not really accurate. Pippen was not a post player. He was a perimeter player. A SF might technically be classified as "frontcourt", but most of them spend their time on the perimeter.

This is it, for me. Yeah, we could just say "Harden needs the ball in his hands/let's get four 3&D guys around him" and we'd probably make a few mediocre runs to the playoffs. We wouldn't be real contenders because 1) Good teams can force someone else to make plays 2) Harden's assist to TO ratio isn't good enough to justify letting him be the only playmaker.

Harden has to learn to play off the ball/the new coach needs to design real plays so the player with the ball will actually be looking AT Harden when he comes around a screen. Currently off the ball movement looks like guys running a 2 on 2 drill at practice - no one is even looking in their direction.

This. It's always baffled me why SFs are classified as "front court" player. A SF plays more like a SG than a PF. In fact, JVG said that SG and SF are interchangeable in terms of their role on the court.

IMO.. with Josh, it's all about Rhythm. I didn't see the game against the Jazz, but it seems like Josh was finally starting to get into a bit of a rhythm, and then got pulled out.

He performed fairly well last year and played about 26 mins/game and 24mins/game in the playoffs. Even tho he still made bone-headed mistakes, they were livable because he would make up for it.

He's only averaging 18mins/game this year - it seems like it would be tough to get into a rhythm with limited/unpredictable playing time.

It depends on the offense. In a PG centric offense, the SG/SF are usually interchangeable, but in an SG centric offense like ours, Harden takes the role of the main ball-handler (and taking many of the PG duties), making the two spots fairly different.

Of course, JVG shouldn't haven't had to inform you of that. It's obvious.

We need better players in general, outside of SG, position doesn't matter.

Whether the PG handles the ball or the SG handles the ball, you still see the SF out there on the 3 point line on offense, don't you??
