Who remembers SuperBowl losers fondly? Just ask Bills fans.

Do you think anyone in Boston would have been happy if they lost to the Cardinals?

I already put my thoughts on the Owen's situation.

I guess you didn't see Triottier (sp?) crying like he won the Superbowl after he leaves the Eagles for more money only to crawl back to Phily this season like Karl Malone seeking another set of coittails after he was cut by someone else.

The Eagles have not beaten one of the top 5 teams in the league this year, they were 0-1 in their efforts against they other 4 top teams, getting torn a new one by the Stealers even with TO and being full strength.

The Eagles had lost to the Panthers and Tamba Bay despite being favorites at home. Atlanta was the underdog, and playing on the road. The only reason the Eagles winning was any kind of story because they blew it in past years. It shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone they finally win an NFC championship playing at home, especially with as pitiful as the NFC was this year. The Eagles started the season as the NFC favorites, they started the playoffs as favorites, they started the NFC championship as favorites. So what they make the Superbowl unless they win it.

The Pats have already dominated a better team and an equal team than the Eagles this playoffs. The Eagles are a very good team who will meet a better team, thank goodness.

It's impossible to bet against Bill Bellichek and the Pats. Why?
    - His coaching staff does the best job of anyone in the NFL of preparing for opponents. They throw more monkey wrenches into the gears of opposing offenses than anyone I've ever seen. Every QB they've harassed and schemed into playing their worst game of the season. First Peyton, then Big Ben.

    - Tom Brady is one of the best quarterbacks in the game. He may not have the strongest arm. He doesn't have the feet that Vick and McNabb have. But he's just like Joe Montana, a winner and a leader. He doesn't make a lot of mistakes and runs the offense like a champ.

-My theory on why the Pats are so awesome is that while they don't have the best at, say 7 or 8 out of 22 positions on the field, their roster is filled with solid, athletic guys who thrive in their system.
Brady is a big example. Some of those guys, like Ty Law, become stars in their system.

Corey Dillon was branded a malcontent, but in New England, he's been a big time and big game player and a class act to boot.

I just don't think the Eagles are going to be able to deal with Bellichek's game plan, which he has two weeks to craft like a modern art masterpiece. If he does win this Super Bowl, I believe without a doubt Bellichek is the greatest NFL coach ever. Winning 3 of 4 Super Bowls in an era of free agency and the salary cap is grounds for canonization.

True fans remember Super Bowl losers. Hey, you may have lost the big game but there are 28 other teams who wished they made it this far. Getting to the Super Bowl, especially in these times of money and free agency is an accomplishment in itself. Please realize that.

According to a poll I saw on ESPN, beating the Yankees and making it to the World Series was good enough for the majority of Sox fans but that's another subject, another time.

Yes you did but Owens is like a double edge sword, his presence could help and it could hurt. It may go either way, this is if he is even able to play.

Read the article in ESPN the magazine about 2 issues ago and you will see why he came back to the Eagles. In fact, Reid asked Trotter back. If you knew anything about Trotter you would know that he is a very emotional and spiritual man as well as a great football player. Enough said.

Yeah the Steelers also beat the Patriots and look what happened. Doesn't mean crap.

Again, getting to the Super Bowl in these times is an accomplishment itself. Why was it a story? Not only because they lost the last 3 years but also because of Philadelphia's drought of a major championship in any sport. Because some actually thought the Eagles had a "curse" like the Red Sox. Because the Eagles were supposed to fold without Owens. Because the Eagles were supposed to be rusty after one month off. Yes, the main reason it is a story if because of the past failures but it certainly is not the only reason.

Who was the better and who was the equal? Indianapolis has a better offense than the Eagles but an alright/mediocre defense. Ask any coach, he'll take a good offense with a great defense over a great offense and an alright/mediocre defense any day of the week. The Steelers are overrated. They're an Atlanta Falcons team with a much better defense. One dimensional. All you have to do is make Roethlisberger throw and you will win. They had a great season but they weren't the team they were made out to be and it showed.

As I said I am rooting for the Eagles not only because I am a HUGE Eagles fan but because I believe they have a shot and so do many of the people I have talked to. GO EAGLES!

Well the doctors won't give T.O. clearance to play in the Super Bowl so don't look for him to play. Is anybody really that surprised?

The doctor does not have final say. TO and the Eagles do. Honestly it could be a huge distraction if he tries to play--like I said before even if the ankle is mostly OK I don't know how he could be in football shape, let alone be physicially and mentally ready to play in probably the most demanding sporting event.

BTW if the Eagles were playing the Stealers it would probably be an even game to -1 for the Stealers (consider the Pats were -3 at the Stealers and you add the 3 points -6 versus being -7 versus the Eagles on a neutrel cite). Given probable clear conditions no doubt Indy would be favored over the Eagles, Indy was only like a 3 point dog at NE (meaning the were thought as close to equals).

The best teams in the league were Pitt, NE, Indy and Phily. The Jets, Chargers, Broncos and Falcons were in a whole other tier. NE is 3-1 versus the elite, Phily is 0-1. The Eagles played 4 teams all season with a winning record, losing 1. The Pats played NINE teams with a winning record, losing 1.

-The Pats are healthier (losing Lewis on top of probably TO really hurts. Lewis is underrated for being a multi-threat player)
-They are used to (MUCH) better competition
-They have been more impressive of late (regardless of opp)
-They are more physical in the run game
    -They are more experienced

The Eagles will have to play among their best and get a few breaks, and the Pats among the worst, for the Eagles to win. Not happening.
