Fat Tuesday is turning out to be a big win for fat theighs. Hillary has boosted her position, and the fact that latinos don't like her ain't gonna play well in the biggest fish state still out there....the great state of Tejas. Ba'raq is cleaning up with blacks (herd mentality "drone" voters) and wealthy democrats. Hellafat is cleaning up with those earning <$50k/year.
Hillary beat him by nearly 20 points. I don't think you could ask for much more especially when you consider how many black voters there are in New York.
It's certainly a major victory for her, but I know that Obama's camp didn't count on over 90 delegates from NY. But Hillary may have a larger than expected CA victory which could more than offset that.
Wow I've noticed a real trend with you and race baiting. I'm glad Obama doesn't bring race into the campaign even a fraction of the amount that you do.
To expand on this - you'd think CT and MA would be similar. And TN & Georgia. Yet, you had really wide spreads in these pairs. Definitely a very odd race.
That's what I think makes the most sense, personally. I think they wanted to increase the value of rural areas, similar to how the electoral college increases the representation of small states. But it seems overly complex.
is it just me, or do any of yall also think that the democratic nomination is going to come down to whoever wins Texas
When 85-90% of a race votes a certain way in some results, you can't blame me for stating the obvious.
Apparently, Romney's the Mormon candidate. Oh, and good to see you moved to Latino/Asian voters now that your whole "doesn't appeal to white voters" theory got blown out of the water.
Texas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania are the big three now. Prepare to be inundated with political advertising for the first time in decades (assuming you live in Texas).
speaking of that btw, how bad does this make zogby look? his poll which had Obama up 46% to 40% was carried by many major news outlets. if the numbers hold up and Hillary wins by 20 in California, how can anyone even take Zogby seriously anymore?
I heard Zogby's brother is some big Arab American figurehead something-or-another....not surprised that he's trying to throw out misinformation in favor of Ba'raq Hussein Ubama
Man, I should register to vote in the Dem primary in Texas, just to negate [pick your favorite cc.net Texas-based libpig]'s Obama vote by voting for Hysterectilly. That would give me a good GIGGLE.
I think you are right it's silly. The polls throughout this whole process have been screwy, though to get a real lead in any of the polls the lead needs to be larger than the undecided vote as well. I think another problem is that the polls didn't take into account the early vote. I could be wrong about that, though.
What's up with New Mexico and why do we have NO info from there given that they closed several hours ago?
i didn't think they voted until june? nevermind, the republicans is on june 3rd... the dem is tonight. good question on the lack of info.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080206/ap_on_el_pr/campaign_missouri Clinton wins in Missouri; GOP race close JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Propelled largely by rural voters, Democrat Hillary Clinton won the important presidential testing ground of Missouri on Tuesday. Republicans Mike Huckabee and John McCain were in a tight battle for a rich delegate reward. Clinton had about 50 percent of the vote compared with about 47 percent for rival Barack Obama, with 88 percent of Missouri's precincts reporting. The Associated Press declared tthe New York senator the winner based on a review of actual vote results, exit polling and an analysis of outstanding precincts. Clinton carried most of the state, doubling and even tripling the Illinois senator's vote totals in some rural, predominantly white counties. Obama kept the race close by racking up leads in the St. Louis and Kansas City areas, home to many of Missouri's black voters and among the last areas to report results. Mechanic Byron Fulkerson, 56, of Columbia, voted for Clinton. He was among those declaring the economy the big issue. "They all have a bunch of blah blah blah talk, but she has the most experience and knows how to get around Washington," Fulkerson said. Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor, and McCain, an Arizona senator, were essentially even. Each had about 32.5 percent of the vote with 88 percent of precincts reporting results. But most of the outstanding votes were in the St. Louis area, were McCain was faring better than Huckabee. The Republican statewide winner receives all 58 Missouri delegates to the national convention. Although Clinton had more statewide votes, she was likely to split Missouri's 72 delegates with Obama. Delegates are awarded proportionally, based partly on the statewide results and partly on congressional district results. All five leading Democratic and Republican candidates made weekend campaign stops in Missouri leading up to the primary. Prospective voters were targeted repeatedly with telephone calls and TV ads. Missouri is considered a bellwether state because its voters have come down on the side of the winner in every presidential election except one in the past 100 years. In 1956, Missourians narrowly chose Democrat Adlai Stevenson of neighboring Illinois instead of Republican President Dwight Eisenhower.
MSNBC has now a new estimate to delegates won from tonight. Therr prediction giving Clinton's their highest estimate of Delegates netted from CA even though the count isn't in. Obama: 841 Clinton: 837 This is of course just a prediction, but Obama's camp said Hillary will only get a net gain of 15 in CA, while Hillary's campaign said they will gain 32-34. MSNBC gave Hillary the maximum 34 they predicted. With that, Obama ends up with a net increase in pledged delegates from Super Tuesday. Amazingly close though.
