Wait, people aren't really suggesting SoulCalibur Legends as a good reason to own a Wii, are they (or really even RE:UC, though I can somewhat understand that game)? Things may have (drastically) changed the last time I checked the game out, but it has always looked terrible whenever I saw it. Hardly anything to get excited about. I'd definitely be more excited about FFCC Wii, No More Heroes, or even Nights 2 instead of that game (though Nights 2 seems like it could use some more work). I think they'll start working on that as soon as Microsoft ports the Halo games to the Wii.
It looks great. I always used kirby in the classic Supers Smash Bros. on N64, but Sonci and Wario look pretty cool
it wasnt enough to keep my from selling it for a 360...i guess im just more of an online gamer. don't get me wrong, smash bros was one of the few reasons i bought a wii, but then the 360 just outweighed the wii in my situation.
Sonic was probably a given, but it is interesting to see it confirmed. It seems, as is par for the course for the series, there will be a lot of replay value in Brawl. This must be, like the fifth time you've told us this story. I think we all understand by now my friend.
I was always partial to Fox. His quickness and fast jumping made for some easy kills by jumping up underneath people and doing the upwards kick. If you had someone damaged decently enough, they usually flew up high enough to die.
This game looks pretty great... I wouldn't buy a Wii unless it's 100 bucks like the Gamecube used to be...but this game will definitely make me go to a friend's house and play it.
BTW, seems like the game has been pushed back to February 10th: http://www.gameinformer.com/NR/exeres/B6CD129C-099E-4419-B7AC-01C42C933553.htm
Man this game is going to rock! And this time it's going to be online as well! It sucks that it's delayed, but there are plenty of other games to play this fall anyways. To the guy that asked what's so special about this game? Well, it plays differently than any fighter you've played. The more you hit a person, the more his % goes up. The more his % goes up, the more he flies around the screen when hit. Pretty much, the point is to knock the other players off the stage, and they lose a life. You can set how many lives you want to play with, and a bunch of different customizable options. You take that, and throw in some of the most memorable characters in gaming, great nostalgic music, excellent level designs, and a whole bunch of items from each of the character's past games (a hammer like from the original Donkey Kong, the star and fire flower from Mario games, laser from Star Fox games, etc...) and you have one of the most unique and funnest games ever made! And this time there are going to be other characters like Sonic and Snake (from Metal Gear Solid) in on the action as well!
Looks like that is true. I hadn't seen that until just now. Gamestop also changed their release date to 2-10.
Wow...Nintendo sure does know how to piss me off. Now that they've pushed Smash Bros. Brawl to February I'm sure Mario Galaxy will be pushed back as a result. Likely until next Christmas which is F'ing ridiculous. Speaking of holidays, I bet that's the major (if not the sole) reason that Nintendo decided to delay Brawl. They waited to guage demand for Wii as Christmas approaches and they realized there is such a demand for systems that they can still live off of Wii Sports, Zelda, and Metroid because there are so many people still looking to play for the first time. It hurts me (in the context of being a gamer) that Nintendo always does this crap. The Wii has so many absolutely sh*tty games on right now that I hardly even play it. Wii Sports and Zelda were great (although Zelda was essentially just a glorified Gamecube game...due to another delay no less!) but then I had a hiatus all the way until Metroid was released. It's good too, but I'm already losing interest in it about 12 hours in. Basically Nintendo thinks like this... - Release system with 1 good game, originally desiged for previous system - Release another good game 1 time per year for the first 3 years. 2 games if you're lucky. - Start speaking publicly about new system in 4th year. - Push back the good game(s) from 4th/5th year of current system so long that they "feel this game would not be done justice on (current system) so it is now under development for (upcoming system)" - Release outdated game from previous system as flagship launch title for new system They try to milk so much interest and buzz out of each of their major first party releases that before you know it, you barely get to play them before the next system is out. It's sickening. I was close to selling my Wii for a 360 before this, but now I'm seriously going to test the waters and see what I can get.
Yeah, I posted that just as the news was breaking (Nintendo had a media event in the US today). Of course, the same press event in Japan where Nintendo showed off Sonic (and a few other things about SSMB), they also announced a delay to 2008 for Japan, so you could sort of sense a delay for the US as well (although you could hope that this was a delay for Japan only). SMG should still be on for 07. I think they even made a comment at their media event today about SMG being the best game coming out in 07 (or something like that), and they did reconfirm the ship date they gave earlier I believe (Nov 12th IIRC?). It would be pretty crazy if they ended up delaying it, at least by more than a month or so anyway. If anything, they could push back Mario Kart Wii a bit...in fact they may have done that already (right now, it is Spring 08...thought it was supposed to be Q1, but I haven't kept up with the release date on that game). I kind of figured that Nintendo wouldn't put out Metroid, Mario, and SSB all in the same quarter (or even the same year), so I'm not too surprised. I'm actually somewhat surprised that gamers will end up with 2 out of the 3 this year. Of course, I'm sure there are probably some good reasons for delaying SSB (although IIRC, Hideo Kojima acted like the game was practically finished back in April, when he got to play it), but I didn't really put much stock into what they were saying earlier in the year. Maybe just a coincidence.
