    FWIW I found Cafe Anne underwhelming and overpriced.

    check out Noe....you can do a chef tasting menu for around $75. you can tell them your like/dislikes and they will create a 6 or 7 course menu for you.

    Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

    Ended up making a reservation at Zula in downtown.

    First choice was really Marks, but no reservations available till 11:00 :(

    Just out of curiosity, anybody been to Spindletop in downtown? View is probably nice, but how is the food?
