They will never stop the hatin. Especially not the VY-lovers. For them, he's the reason why the Titans won 10 games (not Albert Haynesworth and the defense), why they made the playoffs (not the fact that Cleveland choked like crazy against Cincinnati), and why there is no better smell than freshly cut grass on a summer morning (everyone knows that Yao Ming is the real reason for that). Congrats Mario!....now don't fall off next year. Keep it up, and this team has playoffs written all over it.
OK, I understand the temptation to throw this in the face of the "VY-lovers" and everything, but I haven't seen any of them in this thread, so why are we doing it? Personally, I think it's time to start judging Mario/VY/Bush on their own merits (or in Bush's case...lack thereof) and stop constantly comparing them. They play 3 totally different positions. The 2006 draft is ancient history. Time to let it go once and for all.
Hey leave me out it! And for the last time: I am not against Mario at all. I just didn't feel that the Texans should have picked him first overall. I've given my reasons for feeling this way and I stand by what I've said and what I believed then and now. There's nothing bizarre about that. Folks around here appear to only accept positions that mirror their own. I recognize that others may have a different slant on things and it's just fine with me.
Observation from a Lurker: Nobody sees your point of view on this matter. You are alone on this one. It seems as though you are continually disproving yourself. cheers!
His main problem is his mistaken belief that everybody disagrees with his take because it's different from his own when the cold, hard, inarguable and unassailable fact is that everybody disagrees with his take is because it's so friggin' IGNORANT. According to the enormous sack of stupid that IS Hillboy, draft picks should be judged on their rookie season and THEIR ROOKIE SEASON ALONE! What an idiot. Even more laughable is that he can't even come up with a suggestion as to who should have been chosen #1 without making himself look even more stupid (if that's even possible). He seems to be having a real tough time coming to grips with the fact that Mario made him and the other dolts that doubted him his b****.
OK, that post was way OTT and unnecessary. And, it's posts like that that keep people's sensitivity on this issue so high-strung. Back off, dude. You think you're right. We get it. (And I'm saying this as someone who agrees with your position on MW.)
I'm not the one who brought "your take" up; I was merely answering the prior post. But hey, you're entitled to your opinion, just like I'm entitled to label your opinion "bizarre", so I'll leave it at that.
I actually found that line funny... The real idiot here is the person who's too stupid to actually READ and UNDERSTAND someone else's post(s) before they start hurling insults. I'll be sure to remember this when I, along with Mario, watch VY & the Titans play this weekend.
yeah, he should. If not its a horrible mistake. I mean VY made it and he completely blew last year! hillboy has a point...Why should the texans have drafted a top Dlineman in the league when they could have got one of the worst QBs or a spotty RB/WR?!
Big congrats to Mario!! He was an absolute beast for the 2nd half of the season. Hopefully he'll come back stronger next season as I suspect he'll be constantly seeing double teams game after game. And hopefully Amobi will benefit a lot from this as well as the whole DL. And as much as we've spent on the DL the past couple seasons. I'm not to confident in Weaver and well TJ needs to show he can play without hurting his team in senseless penalties.
Congrats to Mario Williams. As for the haters who want to bring VY into it, enjoy watching the teams actually playing this weekend, particularly if you are a fan of one of the 20 teams who would love to be in a position to get their butts kicked this weekend.
