Well, clearly, this year, the NFL was OK with it being something different. It's not like they didn't know it would be cold and could be snowy when they planned this. And while host cities in the South certainly want it that way, NY doesn't have that option. I'm sure places like NY and Denver and Pittsburgh would prefer to have a Superbowl in bad conditions than never get a Superbowl at all.

The NFL is doing something different, but with the intention of opening up the cities that will bid for a SB. They just don't think the weather will impact folks coming in and spending a bunch of $$. That's still their goal. They just think they can do something different and still reach it.

This is what's going to happen when it's all said and done. Every new stadium that's going to be built in the northeast with have a retractable roof.

The money is too good in large events like The Final Four, Westlemania, Super Bowl and college football Championships to ignore and those events will not be held in an outdoor stadium with threat of snow storms and freezing climate.

Why does every one care about the weather? In the end if the weather is horrible it is just more headlines for the nfl. A bad game can happen in perfect conditions and considering the devout nfl audience follows everything they do like zombies, I doubt nfl cares about conditions at all.

I don't care about the conditions. I honestly have zero interest in the game whatsoever.

Part of the issue becomes all the other events that happen during the week or so before the game...and travel through a city that's covered in ice/snow. A lot gets made of the game...but the decision makers for these events are there for more than just the game, typically.

Man up on the receivers. Bring Earl Thomas closer to the line of scrimmage in the middle of the field. Obviously, pressure Manning.

Run run and run some more . Keep Russell out of 3rd and long. Use timely bootlegs to the side away from Trevathon.

    Ball game.

Didn't see this posted but it is now possibly one of my favourite interviews.

Thanks for posting that -- I definitely had not seen it, and I definitely love it.

Has to be even money that he ends up MVP of the game.

Kudos to Deion for how he handled that interview and just getting the guy to open up as much as he did.

So you came into the Super Bowl thread to say you don't care about the weather or the game.

    Good post.
