I'm a fan of predictions like

    "Insert Player Name"
Will hit a homerun during "insert inning"
    On a "pick batters count"
    To the "Pick field location"
    Off of "Insert Pitchers Name"

I've seen someone get that right before. Those are pretty neat.

This game just never seemed intriguing.

No where near the Steelers/Cardinals game from last year.

Even though the Saints won the superbowl that team doesn't scream domination. Frankly I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't even make the playoffs next year.

they got some work to do in the off season. 55% (29/53) players on their roster are free agents next year.

Not only did they win the Super Bowl, but for the regular season, they had the best point differential in the entire NFL - and that was even with taking the last game off. Not much of a "fluke" case for a team that won it all and statistically was also the best all year.

I'm a little late to the party, but man I felt kinda bad looking at Payton's face after that brutal interception. NOS really did a great job doing their homework.

To be honest I wasn't rooting for NO just because I don't think Reggie Bush needs that trophy on his resume. He already Kimmy Kardashian for God's sake!

Who dat. First half was flat out dull - second half was quite fun.

I think most of the blame here goes to Caldwell - the 51 yrd field goal, the bizarre 3rd and 1 at the end of the 2nd quarter... I don't think you can pull off this type of game with weak calls like that. I don't think it's necessary to be utterly ballsy like Payton's onside kick either - but from what I read he was planning it the entire two weeks leading up to the game. Props to Morstead for one heck of a kick (his first onside ever - freekin crazy!).

I was with a group of 50 or so New Orleans fans and they were angry with me because I would not go along with their statement that Drew Brees has surpassed Peyton Manning on the ladder of top QBs of alltime....

    Crazy homers I guess. :)

    Good job Saints.

The 3rd down call to the FB was odd, especially given the way Addai had been running. Also, going for the big bomb rather than picking up a few extra yards on the fg was a bad call. Overall, i thought colts should have ran the ball more because it was effective.

As for the onsides, i think colts had it initially but the refs werent able to get to it in time and in the midst of the scrum, NO took it back. I thought it was a little ridiculous how refs didn't control that situation because it was out of hand.

Garcon should also take some flack. 2 dropped first down passes that stalled indy's drives.

Caldwell was brutally outcoached by Sean Payton.

I don't know if he'll ever recover from this honestly.

Payton is an instant legend now.

That onside kick will be burned into all our heads over the next 50 years thanks to NFL Network.

The onside kick was genius/ballsy. He knew giving Manning the ball would result in at least three points. Keep him off the field and you have a chance. Awesome freakin' call.

Great Superbowl- one of the better ones played with fantastic strategy and drama to keep me interested.

Brees with tears in his eyes while holding and talking to his kid before the trophy ceremony was very sincere and touching.

(Also, Brees' wife looks like Anna Camp, the blonde wife of the leader of the Fellowship of the Sun from True Blood)

Well, I know I'm a little late to the action here (not having power since Friday night due to two feet of snowfall will do that to you), but I still managed to watch. For starters, I kind of knew something like this was going to happen. Between knowing New Orleans had no business winning that Minnesota game to how everybody was picking Indy to take this one -- you just HAD to know this was going to be New Orleans' night.

    Observations:

*Drew Brees seemingly didn't make a single difficult throw the entire night. His dink-and-dunk strategy was brutally effective and he was able to parlay that success into one of the best passer ratings and completion percentages in SB history

*Colts should have used Addai more. By and large, he was unstoppable when he actually touched the ball

*Sean Payton definitely outcoached Jim Caldwell. That onside kick and subsequent score was easily the turning point of the game

*Reggie Bush did something (yeah right)

*Tracy Porter made one of the best read-and-jumps by a defensive back that I've ever seen. Regardless of who was at fault, Porter was the man who diagnosed the play and pounced on it. Plus, let's not forget that he basically had to make that INT since it would have been 4th and 5 -- easily manageable play for the Colts.

*Speaking of Porter, the Saints' defense continues to be opportunistic. They'll bend, they'll give up big yardage and plays, they'll look awful for the most part BUT when the game is on the line they seem to have knack for making plays when it counts the most. On a whole, this team tends to get every lucky break imaginable but the way their defense continues to bend but not break was definitely a noteworthy observation yet again.

*The Pierre's (Garcon and Thomas) are both extremely underrated players. Lucky for both teams they're both 25 and under

*I REALLY hope Vinatieri was hurt and that was the reason he didn't play. There's really no other rational reason to play Matt fricken Stover over a Vinatieri in a game of this magnitude. Speaking of kickers, this Hartley kid has one hell of a boot. I'm sure he'll be everybody's #1 fantasy kicker next year.

*Dwight Freeney's one-handed sick was ridiculous. Not only that, but the fact that he even played in the first place is definitely respectable. You can tell he didn't attend the LaDainian Tomlinson School of Toughness -- that's for damn sure.

    ....and finally.....

*Peyton "The Choker" returns. We both know he's an insanely talented and elite player but his dubious postseason record is VERY hard to overlook. He'll be back and he still has time to cement his legacy, but even if people like to pretend like it's not the case -- we've been down this road before. He needs to get at least one more before he can legitimately be called the best ever.

    Winners:

Fantastic performance by Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. The coaching decisions by Gregg Williams and Sean Payton were A-1 Top Shelf.

    Losers:

Greg Maddux contributed yet another stellar regular season for the Atlanta Braves, however once again, they fell short of their goal.

Late to the party, but I just wanted to say, that was the most pathetic awful halftime show ever.

    An embarrassment.

It was the most sterile halftime since the boob meltdown.

I think next year you're going to see some sex appeal, finally.

i didn't think the halftime show was that bad. I've enjoyed the last few. I don't know what people are expecting...its going to be a good band (hopefully) playing their songs. What else do you expect?

The halftime show was bad. I had to turn the channel to the Puppy Bowl just to shut the girls up.
