I agree worse ones have been made for roughing the passer. Watching it full speed I even think it doesn't look bad, but in slow motion and frame by frame it looks like a bad call. You really get an appreciation of how fast the game is when you watch it that way. I'll be the first to say I could not do the officials' job in any major sport. I have the benefit of review on every play and to slow it down. Like I said earlier in the thread, the only thing I considered unacceptable was the decision to not even review the Warner fumble at the end. That is not even the fault of the officials on the field, but the people upstairs. Do I think the Steelers benefited from some close calls? Obviously I do. Do I think they won because of the officiating crew? No. The officiating in Super Bowl XL just pisses me off still. That was terrible officiating in that game. That is part of playing close games. Any game decided by a possession, you can look back on a few questionable calls and ask what if.
It was a penalty, just not on Fitz http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=easterbrook/090203&sportCat=nfl
I'd actually like to see the rule enforced. Players need to stand back so they don't risk interfering with th play. That sucks for the Cardinals if that cost them on that play. Like I said before there was a block in the back on the Steelers near the end of the return. Offsetting penalties?
^^ I saw that his right foot was not on the ground as he made the catch, but he did end up dragging it inbounds before he went out.
