Clearly, the Colts defense is better than their performance during the season. The year before they had one of the top defenses in the league. I think they are really coming together as a unit. The Bears haven't faced a stout defense in the playoffs, but I think they will face something approaching that in the Super Bowl. The Colts, on the other hand, have dealt with a few really good defensive units. They were flat out unstoppable in the second half. I am really impressed with their running game. I think this game will probably be closer than the line, but I can't see how the Colts lose. The Bears special teams might keep them in it and maybe they force a couple of turnovers, but the Colts have a lot of weapons. I think they finally got over the hump and will take it on home. It will be nice to think that their last loss was to the Texans. I look forward to when we can say that about a playoff game!
I wouldn't necessarily disagree with this - but remember, the Colts squeaked by the Patriots on their own home field. The only team that I felt was dominant in all phases of the game this year was San Diego. After that, the next bunch was all a crapshoot to me - that included Baltimore, Indy, New England, Philly (at the end of the year), New Orleans, and Chicago. I think on any given day, any of those teams are good enough to win. San Diego was the only team that I would strongly favor over all of them.
BORING. you need a playmaker making plays at QB, not some game manager who's only responsibility is to not screw up. what is this, like, the 1920s, or something...?
7 pt tease colts and the over and you got a winner for sure i'd think.. too bad there aren't any sites still letting this stuff go through in the US
I seriously doubt the Colts will assume they are going to win after all the losses they had experienced in the past. I do believe Indy is due for one big one after all these year. Other than Manning appearing in commercials, what has colts done to deserve all this hate? Tony is about as classy as they come. Marvin and Reggie are all business. Just because they beat some teams they deserve all this hate?
i'm not a manning fan. never have been. throws teammates under the bus...comes across as whiny, to me. reminds me of dan marino, and i never liked him, either.
Remember, this is a board full of Texans fans, so they hate any team that is superior to the Texans. That includes every NFL team, Every NCAA D1 and DII team, 3/4 of DIII, and probably Southlake Carroll, Plano East, and Cy-Fair.
It's going to be a tight one. My wife grew up 80 miles from Chicago, so I'm not allowed to root for anyone but when they play. Bears D wins the game.
SOUL BOWL I I can't help but root for Tony Dungy. Losing his son had to make him question if absenteeism because of his vocation contributed to the tragedy. A Super Bowl victory be some consolation. GO INDY!
GO COLTS GO..... Actually, I couldn't give a rats ass. But it would be cool for Manning to finally win.
Do you have examples of that? I remember "protection problems", but I haven't followed the NFL that closely the past few years so I don't know any other times. I myself have been trying to figure out why he's seemingly not well liked by some.
Wow I want the Colts to be leading by half-time. Then when Manning is smiling on the bench, the Colt defense breaks down and Manning starts crying and the Bears just pull it off at the end of the game. blissssssssss
It just seems like he's always b****ing at his teammates when something doesn't go right and doesn't ever seem to take any of the responsibility. Not real solid concrete evidence or anything, just an observation on my part.
i think there were some examples RIGHT AFTER their last couple of regular season games this year where they finished with some disappointing losses. he had the "I'm trying to be a good teammate, here...but our pass protection isn't good" (paraphrased) from last season, I believe. (I THINK it was last season).
The replay they showed of Manning's facial expression & body language after the Pats recovered their fumble for a TD was perfect, vintage Manning.
I want the Bears to win, but I think the Dolts will. of course I was wrong on both games yesterday so what do I know? I thought the Saints would run all over the Bears D - maybe they could of if they would have tried I too am rooting for the "Manning Face" to make an appearance sometime during the 2nd half
