the offense is just as much at fault if not more at fault for time of possesion being so one sided. and its hard to hold an offense to low yardage when your defense is always on the field.
Forgot to mention this earlier...We went to watch the game at Carson's Live, a place in N. Dallas/Addison...One of the main reasons was because of the superbowl after party with Tone Loc...Yes, Mr. Wild thing himself...He looked the same and didn't have a huge entourage or anything...Really nice guy...No pics as all I had was my cell but my friend brought hers so I have to call her...oh yeah, the place was dead... btw, Vanilla Ice will be there March 11th...funny huh...
We saw that...and the entire room groaned pretty loudly. It actually looked like a giant curved penis or something. What do you know ... it's Prince.
What about the Indy Defense beyond a big 52 yrd run by Thomas in the 1st they basically SHUT DOWN the bears They gave up that 7 pts and a field goal ALL GAME The other 7 came on Special Teams If there was a DOMINANT DEFENSE it was Indy's Tony . . the Architech of the TAMPA TWO is a h*ll of a Defensive Coach All year. . his Half time Adjustments have been Great He basically shut down New England last game and the bears were just CRUSHED in the second half Rocket River
The defensive transformation in the playoffs is the most remarkable story of the playoffs. Has there ever been a team that went throught a 180 degree turn like that ever? Tony is a genius on the D!
It wasn't so much that blitz left them at a mano a mano disadvantage that got burned, but a blown coverage by a safety. I am not saying the Bears defense was bad. But the Ravens held the Colts to half the points and half the yards with no offense as well. Pittburgh and NE did better in year's past against probably even better Indy offenses. The Bears at their best this year got by on a defense that shut everyone down. Like the 85 Bears, Tampa and Ravens superbowl winners. This Bears defense was not dominant in the playoffs nor the superbowl. The Bears defense was in fact spotted a special teams TD they couldn't make hold. The 85 Bears or Ravens would have made that special teams score alone hold up. Granted that is a tough burden, but the reality with the Bears second half offense was the Bears defense need to push Indy backwards and cause TOs--they did neither. Niether the Bears offense nor the Bears defense did what I am sure they were expecting of themselves.
