Prince is great. The Artist Formerly Known As... and all that other nonsense aside, the man writes great songs, plays every instrument- and one of the best live performers you'll ever see.
I'm glad they went with another direction for this years Halftime show You can only handle so much..Prince is cool
Dude, that was awesome!!! The end of Purple Rain, with the band playing, crowd singing, and fireworks going off everywhere. So badass. I hope Prince tours again. He was hands down one of the best shows I've ever been to.
My wife pointed out that the Foo Fighters covered Darling Nikki which is probably why he covered them here. As far as halftime performances go, this one was great.
What I found funny was on certain shots you couldnt even see what they were showing cause of the lights refracting off the wet camera lens. gotta give it to em, the sound was pretty horrible, but I guess they didnt want to catch any more flak over lip-syncing, live sound can be a crapshoot and it took guts for them to stick with live rather than a signal they could control better. and btw...I am a hard rock kinda guy, but even I respect Prince's musicianship. That dude can shred on a guitar! any ads I missed that are much watchs?? I didnt turn it to this channel till almost halftime.
I was thinking the same. The thing is I dont think the Foo Fighters ever released Darling Nikki, or if they did it it was a very small amount. I think Prince got pissed about it or something. I need to find it though, love foo's version of it.
Best concerts ever: January 3, 1985. The Summit. January 10, 1985. The Summit. Prince had 6 sold-out shows for the Purple Rain tour at The Summit. 1st show was on a Thursday and the last show was on a Thursday. A whole freaking week in Houston. Ah, memories.
