Were those FG misses also rigged? How about Jerramy Stevens' multiple dropped passes? What about DJ stepping out of bounds on 2 TD passes? How about the Seahawks piss poor tackling that allowed Wille Parker to make the largest run in Super Bowl history! Time Management by Holmgren?

Maybe the Seahawks fixed the game themeselves.

So was Randel El's crushing pass to Ward. The Seahawks looked like fools out there.

those were 50+ yard fgs, certainly no gimmes. and so what if the seahawks also made huge mistakes? they are the players and coaches after all. the officials aren't suppose to be out their blatantly helping the other team.

How about when it was 10 to 14, and Seattle got it down to the 2 yard line, looking to score and go ahead by three... and they call a phantom holding on the offense?? The commentators even said it didn't look like a holding to them.

Then a sack, then a pick, then game. From possible 3 point lead to trailing by 11 again.

    Looks very fishy to me.

Either way, it sure looks like most every call I saw went the Steeler's way, rigged or not.

you seem to basically be the first person i've seen say this. the overwhelming impression from this game-from here, hornfans, and the people i was watching the game with-is that basically no one had a rooting interest in the game and virtually everyone thinks the seahawks got jobbed. now i suppose there are just a massive amount of closet seahawks fans or closet steelers-haters all over the place and they're the only people whose reactions i've read after the game, but that seems unlikely.

I don't think its that. I think most people like to root for the underdog.

That was the worst called Super Bowl game I have ever seen. It was obvious to not only me, but everyone I know that saw the game that the refs did EVERYTHING in their power to give the Steelers the edge. Not only were the calls BS , they came at key moments of the game, and totally killed all momentum. The hold on Seattle, when they would have got the ball on the 2 yard line was killer- most likely they would have scored a TD there, and the score would have then been 17-14 Seahawks, with all the pressure now back on Pittsburg. Even Madden and crew commented on how bad some of those calls were. I checked around as well at multiple sites, such as this one where most people dont have some huge Seahawks bias, and most everyone has the consensus that Seattle got screwed.

Super Bowl XL MVP= the refs

    Disgusting

Wow, if there was a way to epitomize "unintelligence" and there being a need to never speak, this would probably be it. Good job, my friend.

Sorry I refuse to agree with a bunch of r****d conspiracy theorists.

I suppose the NFL must have some kind of hidden and shameless agenda for trying to help out the Steelers afterall.

I would think it would be near impossible to rig a Super Bowl at this point in time.

That being said, the officiating was damn terrible. I couldn't give a rats ass about either team, really, but if I was a Seahawk fan I'd be pissed off. They got screwed.

Because I thought the refs had a bias toward Pittsburg, that shows "unintelligence"? Seems like alot of people in here agree that the calls were clearly one-sided. I'm sure the refs will be a big topic tommorrow as well. Instead of trying to defend the refs, you tell people to never speak. Spouting off stuff like that really makes you look foolish. Good job, my friend.

"r****d" indicates slowness... which anyone would need to be to not see the obvious trends in the officiating in this "game." Questionable calls, several of them, went the Steelers' way. That much was clear live, and still is on tape.

I don't think we are really pushing a conspiracy here either.

The Seahawks just lost under unfair conditions.

Bottom line is this... Parker's TD and the WR gadget play TD were the difference... and the 2 missed field goals by Brown didn't help - the problem is this game left a lot of questions in the "what if" column.

I never saw those questions left in say, the 49er's SuperBowl victories... but they were/are in SB XL.

Don't be so "quick" to call others "slow" for their validated observations.

Officiating is totally subjective. Sometimes bad, sometimes good, sometimes in between. If for even one second you feel that this game is on the same level of poor officiating as the Denver/NE or Pittsburgh/Indy games, then we're done talking. I refuse to sink to that level, and it sounds that's exactly where you people are lurking.

It's only a matter of time before the better team prevails regardless of whatever excuses you want to make.

Understand, I do not care who wins the game. I really don't. I am niether a Seahawk lover, nor a Steeler hater.

I like to see a cleanly called game where no one can say the outcome could have been different if a call had not been made.

I am fully for a team losing because of a busted play, or a dropped ball.

I am fully against a team winning with the aide of a poor judgement call.

While it's true a better team will eventually win it, and rise up against the odds, whatever... it's also true that a game can have wrong calls at inopportune times that direct the outcome more than the play itself.

It's obsurd to deny that the game lacked pure officiating.

    No matter what the outcome.

Also I want to point out that I MADE MONEY on the Steelers Today. I placed this bet on the Steelers during the playoffs.

    Future Wager 01/15/06 23:43 ET
    15.00/45.00 Result: Pending
Odds to win 2006 Super Bowl - Detroit MI
    Pittsburgh Steelers 02/05/06 (18:00 ET)
    3-1

That means I won $45 on them. After that I put a little on the Seahawks moneyline, so I could have guaranteed money. I fully agree with IROC it, it was clear the Steelers got more than their fair share of calls. Is it impossible to believe that the Seahawks got screwed with numerous calls? Would this be the first time this playoffs where the refs had a significant influence on a game? Remember the Rockets/Mavs series from last year?
