I don't mind the "boring" games; hell, they're usually the ones that are so epic, like people have pointed out. I just hate NE. With a vengeance. No logical reason, either, just do. Anyone else?
I'm happy. We get 2 teams that can move the ball offensively. Most Philly games I've seen are ugly, slow, and boring.
It might be a good game but there is no star factor at all. Tom Brady and Stephen Davis are borderline and they don't exactly do it for me. When you see the... Colts you think of Peyton, Harrison, James Titans - McNair, George, Kearse Chiefs - Holmes Packers - Farve etc... The stars are what make the game exciting and these two teams don't have any identifiable stars. If the Falcons took the place of either team in this super bowl it would draw better ratings than what we have in store this year.
I agree there are no superstars in the game though I would say Stephen Davis and Julis Peppers are closer than Eddie George and Jevon Kearse. But seriously why do fans worry about TV ratings? I never understoood it. I heard it when the Spurs and Nets played than the Marlins and Yankees now Im sure we'll hear alot more about it in this years superbowl. All I want is a great series or great game. I could care less about who else or how many other people are watching. I'll just let CBS worry about their ratings. And go Falcons
The Titans and Patriots played the REAL Super bowl last week.... Those were the 2 best teams. Pats in a blowout. DD
Last year's Superbowl was "sexy" and look what happened. When I think Colts, do I think stars? No, I think overhyped. Manning can't even blame his receivers for his crappy play today. When I think Patriots, I think underhyped and amazing under pressure, which is perfect for a Superbowl. Add in the fact that it is the first Superbowl experience for an expansion team, something the Houston Texans should take note of (and realize they can do it much much faster), and it should be a great game.
The Titans and Patriots played the REAL Super bowl last week.... Those were the 2 best teams. Indy finished with the same record as the Titans, won the division, blew the Titans out at home, beat them on the road, and the Titans are the better team?
I gotta hear your explination for this one.. let's see.. Peyton choked in the playoffs until this year.. and then led the Colts to a win over the defending Superbowl champs (at an away game no less) in the most thrilling comeback win ever on Monday Night Football. McNair has "choked" every year too, as least by your reasoning.. he's led the same amount of dramatic comebacks as well.. I really don't think you can say one is better than the other.. they've both failed when it counts and also lost when it counted.
I really dont see how he is a choker. He had two amazing games to get this far. If anything he isnt a good QB in very poor weather. Both this loss and last year's loss in to NY happened when it was cold and snowy. If these losses occured in indy then you may be on to something.
I can't believe all this dynasty talk with the Patriots. There is no such thing as a dynasty in today's NFL. They have a nice winning streak, and are a great team that deserves to be going to the super bowl, but no dynasty. This won't be the most exciting super bowl, but it will be a close, tough game from the looks of it. That's better than last years game. This Panthers team is surprising everybody...I even had the Cowboys beating them. One thing this does prove is that you must have a defense to get to the big game. The last several years, except for the Rams super bowl winner has had a solid to great defense (though the Rams were great at getting takeaways).
