Logic says to go with Carolina especially with the way they've played all season.

I just can't get over how great Denver's defense has been all season. Obviously for Denver to have any chance to win Peyton will have to be A LOT better than he was today, but I think they definitely have a shot because of their defense.

At the same time I can see Denver getting blown out if that offense does not show up at all similar to 2013. Carolina is pretty hard to defend when it comes to running the ball, and if Denver's defense has to keep going out on the field because of an inept offense fatigue will come into play.

I'm taking Denver thinking their offense does come through and their defense does just enough to win.

They are. They're the most complete team in the league, with playmakers on both sides of the ball.

They can beat you with offense and defense.

Denver is not going to be able to put up a TD on offense so the Defense will have to win this one. If they can force several turnovers they have a shot.

    Carolina 27
    Denver 6

There are a lot of Manning fans out there. Smart money will come in at the end and the number will go up.

The line is where it is, and the money coming in, because of denver's defense... Not manning.

Even Manning fans will admit that he's the weakest aspect of that team.

I think Denver's defense will slow down the Panthers a little bit. I also think that Peyton will play better than Palmer (meaning, he won't throw a bunch of picks)...but they just don't have enough offense to make this a game. I think they will struggle to move the ball down the field via the run or pass. And the Panthers don't turn the ball over very often.

    Panthers 27, Broncos 10

It became clear to me back in like Week 7 or so that Carolina was the best team in the league, by a decent margin.

you just can't assume the panthers are going to roll the broncos. I expect an exciting game. two weeks to prepare and denver isn't going to be missing the heart and soul of the D, unless von miller falls in the shower.

I went back and watched the panthers vs texans not that long ago. Newton was killing us with the option. Early in the third quarter, newton runs it for 4 yards but not before being absolutely leveled by Watt, with cushing landing on top. He got up, but was 'hobbly' in doing so. After that play, they didn't attempt keepers or options.

Take away that threat early even if it draws a couple of yellow flags. Hope Ed is refereeing again, he let's them play. Could be the first superbowl to go to overtime.

their secondary has been a sieve the past month+. denver is the better defensive unit, and it's not really close.

i'd throw what we saw yesterday out of their defense right out the window. carson palmer has turned into tj yates his last 3 games.

peyton having no deep ball is a problem. but if he can find a way to connect on everything else for one game, they can make a game out of this.

They've given up two big leads which has led to some questionable secondary play... but there has also been elite secondary play which led to those big leads, and overall performance throughout the season with only 1 loss.

Denver has Ware/Miller which is pretty damn tough to beat when they're on... but Carolina's defense is more versatile and has elite level performers at all three levels.

And in the end, I firmly believe Carolina's defense is going to dominate Denver's offense moreso than Denver's defense is going to dominate Cam.

With the tickets punched, Denver has home field. West Coast. And a ferocious Defense. Tap into that equation experienced Manning. Everything points to Denver. Panthers may be talented, but they are uncooked. This is a game at the highest level, and while Cam has that experience in college, and has been tested, this is a whole new level of pressure. Strong arm, great leader, talented, but when someone is in your face you can't throw. Denver took out Gronk. They will take out Cam. The hardest victory is over self.

    Denver 31 Carolina 16.

31 points would tie a season-high in points for Denver, and would be the most points they've scored since week 2.

If Denver wins, its going to be in a very similar fashion to what they've done the last 2 weeks... low-scoring and taking advantage of the opposing team's (forced) mistakes.

Manning has 2 weeks to get healthier. He looked much better yesterday (albeit not great) than he did 2 weeks ago v. a much better D in the Pats.

But they need a great Manning to have a chance.

The Broncos opened as 3.5-point betting underdogs at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com for Super Bowl 50 against the Panthers ... link

My guess is that Carolina wins in a blowout.

Want to see Peyton get a ring and retire on top but I just see Carolina absolutely destroying them. Over by half time.

1st time in years that I'll be happy no matter who wins. I'll legitimately be happy for whoever wins and sad for whoever loses. I would like to see Peyton go out with another ring, but I don't know if Wade's aggressive defense can contain Cam Newton.
