KG is a better overall player than amare...just ship KG, Amare and hell while we're at it Kobe to the East, I dont care what team, just out of the west...
Sorry for the double post, but if this trade was to happen it would happen withing 24 hours right, it would have to be before the draft?
This makes more sense to me, I think Stoudamire and KG are redundant (ish). Marion, Nash, KG, Bell, Diaw, Barbosa - forget it, they can have their rings now. I think that is a MUCH more balanced and better defensive team than this years Suns, and has a much better chance to gel correctly than if they trade Marion away.
The T-Wolves lose. They must get a good young player in return for KG. Instead of doing this, they should go back to the Lakers and accept Bynum + Odom + picks. Then they could trade Odom for another younger player. I think that is what McHale should do. #3 & #11 for KG is not enough.
I'm not saying I don't think Phoenix at least gets better. They probably do. But for now, I'm of the opinion that with their coach, and their style, unless San Antonio has some freak happening (like Duncan is injured, or they play a team more likely to beat them...ahem, Rockets), then the Spurs should still be a deeper, better TEAM than the Suns. Especialyl if they add a Grant Hill type...another great role player who adds to their depth and versatility. Often I think Duncan is overrated. The key to the Spurs is Greg Popovich. I have no idea what the hell Phil Jackson does, but it is clear that Pops is just an awesome awesome coach. He has a great, great group of players, but the Suns this past year certainly had more talent. The Spurs are just so versatile...they're hard to beat. I do, however, think they can be vulnerable to other styles. The Rockets clearly had some success against them last season. I guess its tough if you're the Suns. Cause a more or less Marion for KG swap...why wouldn't you do that? Plus it's not very clear what other options the Suns have right now. They've picked their style of play and can't really deviate from it too much, or they'll lose effectiveness. KG is probably the best they'll get. But I won't be automatically handing anyone trophies just yet...
I'd take Hartford over Odom and you can get another Bynum at #11. In this draft you'd probably could get another Bynum in the 2nd round.
just curious does minny get enough back in terms of salary for garnett?? it seems at least its #3,#11,zaza and anthony johnson wouldnt add up to garnett's salary and man do the suns make out they ship amare's max contract and get back KG. of course amare right now has a longer shelf life, but kg is still in his "prime" and will be for the next few seasons while nash is still effective. one thing is that you never know how amare's microfractured knees will hold up after some more wear and tear, sure he was amazing this past season but if history indicates most of the other players who went through it werent the same amare may lose his as he grows older
If the suns get KG, will Kobe's head explode? Also, can KG run up and down the floor like Amare does? I dont think he can anymore.
Splash!!!!!! The deal is getting closer..... http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/nba/news...YF?slug=aw-nbadraft062707&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
Shipped to Atlanta as ALL-NBA first team center, that really sucks for him. The Suns definitely gets better, but I don't think they will win automatically. Sure, they are contender, but that group of people just don't look like winners to me, including Nash and KG, or maybe even more because of them.
No sympathy for Stoudemire from here. Let's see if he's as effective without Nash getting him the ball, he'll be getting passes from... Speedy Claxton and Tyronn Lue. We will see how good he is at creating his own shot, which is not his forte. I hope that you're right about the Suns, and it could end up happening that way, I mean Dallas looked unstoppable on paper for the last 2 years now yet they find a way to choke and lose when it counts.
I don't have a doubt in my mind that this puts Atlanta right into the middle of the playoff pack in the East. Pachulia Amare Josh Smith Joe Johnson Rent-A-Point That's a pretty good defensive team right there in itself. And if Sheldon and that other player from NC (name escapes me) pans out, they have a good, young, and deep team. Hell, even Cleveland can make the Finals, this team has a shot as well.
