Amazing dunk for sure. It's a testament to Hakeem's greatness that the Phoenix Suns and their fans view this as one of their greatest moment in their history. I feel a lot of fan pride that a dunk over Hakeem Olajuwon is such a rare and exceptional feat that it can be so defining for an all-star like KJ. Thank you for sharing this.
So when do we celebrate Mario Eli's 3? The shot that sent them into mediocrity... I have Dish Net NBA package and sometimes we get the Phoenix t.v feed for random games and their announcers (specially Tom Chambers) are a cast of bitter little b****es. Comments like "Oh what a lucky shot", "Bunch of hypocritical fans in this arena", "Love seeing dissapointed Lakers fans cry", "Rockets are horrible bit getting lucky from the line tonight", "Howard's free thorw shooting gets worse as the game goes on so keep fouling him hard"...I mean, they act like whiny little girls.
This is what happens when franchise never won a championship and doesn't have much to show for to motivate the team. 1993 was Barkley's year if it wasn't for the Bulls.
No doubt, the 93 Suns squad was arguably the best they have ever put out. Barkley is just a old, bitter, ringless HOF'er. Notice how last year Dwight was the best center in the NBA and since he joined the Rockets, "Dwight is not great but very good. He hasn't improved etc." Dude's just a flat out hater and now jumps on any other center's nuts not in a Rockets uniform. Add along Chambers, EJ and those other bitter sore losers. The delusional fans here in Phoenix think they actually have a better franchise than Houston which is the sad part.
They could also celebrate when Charles Barkley threw up the white flag and said, "If you can't beat em', join em'!"
You gotta be kidding me. They may not have not have won a championship yet but they are a first class organization. Way too many Rockets fan wearing red and yellow colored glasses. The Rockets are a great organization, but we're one Hakeem Olajuwon away from being just like every other franchise without a championship and being made fun of.
what a dumb argument, are the bulls one michael jordan away from being like the other teams too.. the spurs one tim duncan away.. the mavs one dirk away from never having a title.. you dont need to make silly hypotheticals to justify these other teams failures. these other teams and fans could kmfa they probaby think their franchises are better than ours anyway. im glad theyve never won **** and hope they never win ****..
did he really dunk on dream though? let's be honest here. "the jet" played some harden like D, dream was guarding his man. Kj had already started his momentum when dream realized he had gotten past 'jet'.
Yes, it's essentially luck. I'd rather judge a franchise by overall record and general playoff success. Getting a superstar to lead you to a championship is mostly luck. What are the Bulls historically without MJ? Garbage. Mavs are still decent and the Spurs are a well oiled machine. The Jazz have been a good organization for a long time. What's pathetic is raining on someone else's parade just because the reason comes at the Rocket's expense.
Dude... they are having a night dedicated to one play. Not a play that won them a ring or advanced them a round, but just one spectacular play that at the end of the day had no significant bearing on nba history. That is how unsuccessful the Suns are. They dedicate a night to a dunk. There is absolutely nothing pathetic about pointing it out. Go away.
There's 41 home games a year. I imagine this was a pretty easy decision for the marketing director, considering this is the 20th year anniversary of the play. I guess another bobble head doll night would have offended Rockets fans less. Actually, a figurine of the play would be pretty cool.
yea this is the same team that had raja bells clothesline of kobe as the 5th best play in their franchises playoff history..
PHX, as a whole, is lacking pretty women as well. Sure there's beauty everywhere, but PHX's quantity is below par.
