And oh yeah, another Pau Gasol trade. So sad that Memphis/Chris Wallace had to start this trend of giving away players for nothing.
Over the years, some of the former Stars haven't done very impressive work in the Front Office either. Bird Baylor McHale Zeke MJ
I had a lot more faith in the Suns turning things around when it was Colangelo in charge. Kerr? I can definitely see the Suns being the armpit of the league with him calling the shots and Sarver keeping an iron grip on his wallet.
why don't we have to dump Carl Landry and Joey Dorsy just for a #14 overall pick??? My answer is noooooo.
If the #14 pick will net the Rockets a player who is superior to Carl Landry, why wouldn't you do it? Joey Dorsey would be included solely to make salaries match. The trade could also work with Brent Barry included, but the Suns would probably prefer taking Dorsey (and his smaller salary). Plus, by waiving Pavlovic, the Rockets would net about an additional $1M to work with to re-sign Artest and/or Wafer.
Take this w/ a boulder sized grain of salt, but Stephen A Smith tweets: Alert! Alert! My sources tell me it's OFFICIAL: SHAQUILLE O'NEAL IS A CLEVELAND CAVALIER. LeBron officially has his best shot at a title. EDIT: Cavs main beat writer basically tweets the same info, now it sounds legit: I am now being told by a high ranking source that the Shaq deal has been agreed to. More to come
I wonder if this kills the possibility of Amar'e to Houston since it was probably expirings that the suns got in return.
Done deal. Shaq is a Cavalier. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...S8vLYF?slug=aw-shaq062409&prov=yhoo&type=lgns As reported in the Amare thread, someone with a very very reliable source says Amare to Houston isnt happening
any idea who's projected to be the top pick on next year's draft? Or any idea how deep it is? it will be funny if the Suns tank the 09 season and the 2010 draft be crappier than this year's draft
As of right now, it won't do the Suns any good. The Thunder owns Phoenix's UNPROTECTED first rounder next year. The Suns are trying hard to trade #14 to OKC in exchange for #25 and the Suns' 2010 first rounder back.
If anything, the Suns should blow up their FO and management. Literally. Set them all on fire and blow them up.
Everything has been set in motion for the Suns to blow it up and start over. Can we capitalize, that is the only thing I care about. The Suns as a team are screwed, they won't get anything more for Nash or Amare then right now at this point. Amare and Nash should be gone if not by tomorrow evening then by the end of the summer. I can see a blockbuster deal coming out of the rubble.
Ric Bucher is reporting that Amare is gone tomorrow if the Suns have their way. Here's the link: http://twitter.com/RicBucher
Successful Trade Scenario Congratulations on a successful trade. Due to Houston and Phoenix being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Phoenix had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
