One other plus on Steve....other than hs migraine problems (which have been rectified) he hasnt ever been known as an injury prone player....which , for a young player is important IMO.

ESPN News. As previously mentioned and according to the Hotlist the Rockets would send Francis, Cuttino and Cato for McGrady and "other players".

I am confused. I thought that McGrady wants out of Orlando since he wants to play for a winner. He also has said that he wants to play with a big man.

Playing for a winner? Clippers? This is just not going to happen.

Phoenix usually has a playoff team, but not last year. To get Mcgrady they will have to give up two of their three best players, Marion and Johnson. Would a team lead by McGrady and Stoudemire make the playoffs? Yes (though not a given). Would that team be a top 4 team in the West? No. Dallas, Sacramento, Minnesota, and San Antonio are still better. If Kobe and Shaq are still Lakers next year, they would be better too.

Houston is in the same position as Phoenix. Houston would have to give up two of its best three players (plus some hard to find bench depth in Cato). Also after the deal it is hard to see the Rox becoming a top four WC team.

A deal with Indiana might make the best sense, if McGrady wanted both to win (after the deal Indiana is still a top 4 EC team) and to play with a dominant big man (Jermaine O'Neal).

I also think a Shaq for McGrady+Hill deal should be a strong possibility. McGrady will miss out on the big man, but would be compensated with tremedous media exposure.

You are soo right. Every other site I went to this weekend, regarding houston, made it sound like we were offering Rohoderick Rhode, Emanuel Davis, and Tree Rollins for Tmac. No Other sites would say our players are credible. And on top of that, out the three teams mentioned, Houston, Phoenix, and the Clips, ...WHO MADE THE PLAYOFFS LAST YEAR?

All I can say is time will tell. If the deal happens... cool. If not, I still love who we have and I hope the right steps are taken to make the necessary adjustments so that we can get beyond the first round.

Ok, I'm so sick of hearing this kind of bull****. I mean people pretending they never liked Steve. That "entire package" WAS pretty before JVG's offense, or lack thereof.

Just a year ago or slightly more, anybody that questioned Steve on this BBS had to fear for their reputation and their lives.

NOBODY saw the kind of season he had this year coming. The fact that this was his worst season COMBINED with the fact that it was televised more than ever are what might have hurt Stevie's rep, but don't even pretend people only thought he was good because of highlights before this season... Hell, I even know a few people that never knew what people liked in Steve until they saw him playing in the playoffs.

"5 years is enough" my ass...

4 of those years, nobody questioned his talent. Nobody wanted him gone. Not even you.

Clippers' offer sounds weaker? Really? Francis, Mobley, and Cato are 27, 29, and 30, respectively. Maggette, Wilcox, and the #2 pick are 25, 22, and (likely) 18, respectively. That's an average of 7 more years per player. Which package would you take as a rebuilding team?

All I have to Say is... BOSTON was in the Playoffs, and they were horrible. Tom you are right, with our back court, Cato, Gooden, and Okafor... That is at least a #4 seed in the East. I know the East won the championship, but after the 3rd or 4th seed the rest of the teams are not that good. I mean the west had how many teams that were above .500 and still did not make the playoffs.

Oh yeah, beileve me, just a few minutes ago on ESPN news, he looked like a big idiot. I was laughing because here this guy was on ESPN having to report on the latest deal between the Rockets and Orlando just after he wrote an article stating that the Rockets were not going to get Mcgrady. 'I'm an idiot' was written all over his face.

Is it even remotely possible for the Clippers to get Shaq? That is the only reason I can imagine TMac wanting to go to the Clippers. Other than Donald Sterling's historic parsimony, are there any cap issues? It strikes me that the Clippers would run out of talent before they could match the salaries of Shaq and TMac in two separate trades, but since they are below the cap (significantly at that), does it matter?

Because as much as TMac would probably like to play with Yao, he'd want to play with Shaq even more. And I would be thrilled to see the Clips becoming the most successful and popular team in L.A.

Apperently the Clippers have already traded their #2 to the Bobcats for the #4 and them agreeing to take Pedja in the expansion draft.

    SFGate article

They also mention us throwing in Nachbar in the deal, haven't heard about that before.
