I think J-rich makes significantly more than Battier (remember Diaw alone makes 9 mill and he was traded for Diaw+Bell), so for the trade to work it'd probably be Battier+Francis+Landry+Head. That would screw our rebuilding plan for 2010 so no way.

Talent-wise though, I'd probably trade Artest or Battier straight up for him. Dude's the perfect scorer beside tmac. Plus he already played with Baron Davis so he knows how to play with a ball dominating player...

The Suns made out like bandits.

He gives them a legit scoring option beside Steve Nash. I think you are under rating Jason Richardson here. The dude is not your normal high-volume scorer. The dude is averaging 18 pts on 44.1% fg shooting and 45.8% three point shooting this season. Now think about the fact that he's playing with a team coached by Larry Brown (not exactly offensive minded), with a team that lacks a dominant post scorer and with DJ Augustin and Felton as his pt guards. Alongside Steve Nash and Amare Stoudamire, I don't know how high his percentages will be.

He's also only 28 years old. Diaw is only 26 but Bell is already 31. He gives them someone to build around with Amare when Nash becomes washed up.

Morey was dismissive of the Warriors-Bobcats trade that originally sent J-Rich to Charlotte. Early on when the Warriors were losing after that trade Morey said "That's what happens when you trade away your best player".

What a disappointment the big Diaw contract was for the Suns.

I think this is not a good trade for Suns, on offense they are good enough, but their defense is terrible, Suns waived their best two defenders, while Jason Richardson is good at offense while his defense is not good..

Talent wise Phoenix got a steal, but Phoenix now is on the top of lists for "Teams that are going to implode". Trading away their only decent defensive players for another shooter that would take away shots from the already disgruntled Amare could make it troublesome. Don't know what the hell Charlotte is thinking, either MJ has a genius move up his sleeve, or he's sensing another Kwame Brown.

West is even more stacked now with that trade and New Orleans getting Daniels... We need to get a trade done!

Actually, I think the Suns were willing to match any offer that Joe Johnson was to receive. He chose to leave for a starting PG job.

Ahh the Bobcats. Missed out on a legit center in the draft to make it easier for Okafor, the trade there only offensive threat.

Good for both sides. Phoenix is definitely in the playoffs now.

The year before JJ left, the Suns could have had him for just $50MM/5yrs but only offered $45MM. Very short sighted.

    Inky trade.

Might work out for Suns, Jason gives them a guy who can play the SG position very well, legitimate offensive threat alongside Stoudemire.

Shaq and Nash are going to raise their games if they want something,

Wow, that was actually good move for Phoenix, but. I mean, they got a great scorer, goo dstar in this leauge.

But the problem is their defense. Offensivly they are now phenomenal, but they gotta think about defense. I know Porter wants to play defense but it wouldn't be easy.

They lost their best defenser, they may be in trouble if they meet any great superstar in the playoffs.
