I guess the Suns felt Robin Lopez has progressed enough where they felt Diaw was expendable, Diaw was maddeningly inconsistent anyways. Jason Richardson has enough athleticism to make Bell's D not that big of a loss. Younger too.

I keep wondering why the Bobcats did this, unless they think Diaw is their answer at PF that they've been looking for all these years.

Man i use to really like watching that team. Yeah, Nash and Amare played crappy D but Marion picked up the slack and JJ and Q were atleast average. They were great on offense and size was never an issue. Their chances of winning a championship left with Joe Johnson.

As far as the trade goes, I think the suns got a little better. I think Raja's D was a little overrated because how bad his team was. The real issue is the suns losing a big. Diaw was one of the few people on the team that could create offense from the post.

I never know what the Bobcats are doing so i won't try to think about it.

spare a thought for Sean Singleton. His came to rox via the artest trade, which was then traded for DJ strawberry. And now his gone to Charlotte. Welcome to the NBA kid.

not sure, the not using and signing the good MULTIPLE first pick opportunities in my mind is worse than Shaq and nearly as bad as not signing JJ

Let me guess. It's against your religion to use periods and using capitalization's at the beginning of sentences and for names is the ultimate sin.

Flatout Robbery...even a better trade for the Suns than the Artest trade was for us!

WOW!!! O.O this is an awesome trade for the Suns!!!

Now I gotta support the Suns loads of times when they're not playing us, cos they just got one of my favourite players....

guys, we gotta realise Jared Dudley is a legit stud!!! Look for him to become a Gerald Wallace-type player in the next couple of years!!! Everyones saying oh look the Suns got J-Rich, but loads more attention should be paid to J-Dudley!

    The Bobcats just got robbed!!!

This was as much a salary/useless benchwarmer dump as it was a trade for talent, heck, they managed to get a borderline all-star in return for the salary dump!!!

funny. Just 2 years ago the suns were probably the deepest team in the league. Now? Not so much.

I don't see how this trade will improve the Suns' chemistry. Can J-Rich help the team when he's not chucking up shots? This could frustrate Amare and Nash even more.

I thought the team was supposed to slow it down and play better D? This trade makes them worse defensively and less deeper.

It's hard to say right now but I'm going to have to consider it as a lateral move. But if they stay healthy, I think they can sneak in there ahead of Dallas to make the playoffs.

Diaw is underrated, I think. He can def. score in a Larry Brown offense--I think he'd make a great starting PF, because he has a speed mismatch on other PFs and a decent post game too. He rebounds pretty well too. The only issue with him is his contract. An Okafor/Diaw front line is intriguing.

Bell looks washed up, but he could just be in a slump. Buy low, as they say.

Lol are you kidding me? Lets break it down:

    Bobcats:
    +Raja Bell
    +Sean Singletary
    +Boris Diaw

    Suns:
    +J-rich
    +Jared Dudley
    +2010 second round pick

Suns not only got the absolute best player in the deal, they also got a high 2nd round pick (worth more than a low 1st rounder) and Jared Dudley. Dudley is like Von Wafer, a decent talent for his contract (he's 6-6, a hustler, and only on his 2nd year). Cats got a soft pf and a declining player who benifitted from the Nash effect, and yet another sub-par point guard.

Look at the (healthy) lineup Phx now has:

    Shaq, Amare, Hill, J-Rich, Nash

    backed by

    Barbosa, Lopez, Barnes, Dudley

J-rich is currently playing out of his mind pre-nash. He posted awesome numbers last season on extremely good percentages despite having a lousy pg to play along with and a useless coach. With Nash, expect his numbers to skyrocket. Kerr is smarter than I gave him credit for, and MJ is more moronic than I thought he was.

imo what a steal! i dont care for the suns but i can't wait to see highlight dunks featuring passes from nash to j rich. they will also have to respect his game which will open the inside up for amare and his highlights

Suns traded depth for talent. Well, in the short run, they might not be as good. But it's easier to get depth than talent. The only question is, can Nash's and Shaq's age wait for another year for them to get to the championship level?

What if we could have traded our defensive stopper(battier) and a forward (preferably hayes but probably would cost us like landry) would you have done it for j rich?

J-Rich is good but what does he do for the Suns? The Suns don't need another scoring option, though maybe they're trying to put pressure on opposing teams wings by making them defend a bit more. But right now, the Suns best defender is...uh...?

One of the more underrated borderline superstars in the league is J-rich. He never really got the attention he deserved for putting up the numbers/highlight reel dunks that he has done. Probably due to the fact he played for GSW the majority of his career and for Charlotte. He's definitely in the top 10 for his position. He's not on Kobe, Iverson, Wade, Carter, Tmac (when healthy) level but I'd say he's a level above the Rip Hamilton's, Corey Maggette's and Michael Redd's of the league. I'd put him in a category with a Ray Allen. He's never been "THE MAN" but with Nash, Amare and Shaq he doesn't need to be. Very nice pick up for the Suns.

I think you overrate Diaw. For me, he is one of the most frustrating players in the NBA to watch. He plays far below his ability. His passivity on offense is often mistaken as unselfishness but he's killed the Suns with his lack of aggression.

Nash said tonight he's ticked off that his best friend Bell got traded with Diaw right after the Suns played a couple of good games and seemed to be coming together. Mark Jackson said the move breaks up some of the old Suns team that was resisting his changes and JRich comes on board with a fresh outlook. But if Amare doesn't get along with JRich, oh brother.
