    We wont draft Vince Young

Kubiak offense are usually ran by pocket QB in the mode of Elway, Plummer type like Carr.

Carr Bush AJ 06' sign Given and we're set!

Yeah I agree, I just think all the moves lately have established Bush as #1 pick or trading down. No Vince Young.

Exactly. It's not as if Charlie Casserly would take a quarterback most rated around 10 or lower and latch onto him and take him first overall... oh wait, he already did that four years ago. His name was David Carr.

Again, I'm not predicting we'll draft Vince, but the logic some of you use is laughable. Whatever Vince's stock is now, Carr's was lower at many points in 2002, and he still went first overall. In fact, around the Senior Bowl, many had him as a mid-first round pick.

What moves are those? Signing a backup quarterback?

The Texans need a backup QB whether it's Carr or Vince leading the team.

Who are you trying to convince, dude? You're not predicting we'll draft Vince, well I AM predicting we won't draft Vince. Let's leave it at that as well as the other posters here you try to aggravate because they are saying we're not drafting Vince.

I'm not trying to aggrevate anyone claiming we won't draft Vince. That's a perfectly logical opinion, and we've all been around in circles on that issue. I respect that point of view. However, claiming that the signing of a backup QB and/or the signing of a FB has any impact on the first overall selection of the draft is a little silly to say the least. That's the only point I'm trying to make.

Yeah, it's the point you're trying to force AKA aggravate people to believe. I mean... you have quoted every single of us trying to tell us your point. I don't think you respect our point of view and is very contradicting with your post.

    we'll be totally awesome.

i'm still baffled by your take on this...given that you told us all year how Carr was absolutely awful and the source of our problems.

There's a difference between trying to aggrevate someone and simply looking for an explanation.

To summarize, all The Cat is trying to say is that the signing of Sage says nothing of the Texans' draft strategy. Whether the Texans trade the pick or draft Bush or Young, a back-up QB was needed.

you can argue a 1,001 reasons why the Texans won't take VY.

the fact they just signed Sage Rosenfels is not one of those reasons.

Agree. They're not gonna take VY, but Sage isn't the reason, and I don't think extending Carr was a sign either. They just like Bush better.

Finally someone in this thread is making some sense. Free agency just started and while everyone is deservedly scared about the moves that Casserly will be making in the next few months, just chill and watch what happens. Sure he's made some personnel decisions that have been borderline PSYCHOTIC, but he's also put us in good shape for this offseason. And don't think for a minute that he knows if he screws this offseason up, he's as good as gone.

I'm sorry if I am in the minority on this, but I have faith in our new coaching staff and Bob McNair that they will be doing a LOT more "quality control" where Casserly is concerned.

Where did you see that? He's coming to Houston to meet with the Texans today. Why would he do that if he already re-signed with the Patriots?
