I think he sees it as a debate exercise where he has taken on the opposition to global warming theory.

The only real world opposition is from corporations whose profits depend on the proliferation of carbon consumption. We don't expect any rational change in position from them; it be like convincing a shark not to kill. The cost/benefit for their profits is to invest in slowing regulation.

We do however expect that humans, when presented overwhelming evidence, would acknowledge the best estimation of truth.

LOL. Classic example of holding a position and being blind by the position.

If you want to pick a answer just pick any 30 year average that fits your hypothesis and then overlay your data and BOOM!!! Neato cartoons....

So here is the deal. The climate guys are willing to say that the giant ball of flaming gas that provides all the heat energy for our planet really doesn't affect temperature much. It's my lawnmower and cow farts.

Consider this. Go into your nice home with a state of the art AC unit that has the accuracy of maintaining temp to the ninth degree. Set the AC to 75 degree. Go into your living room. Nice cool relax feeling. But on a thick blanket, yick, getting uncomfortable after a while. Take it off, nice cool relax feeling.

If our planet don't have an atmosphere, Martian would enjoy getting their tongue stuck to your body. If our planet have a much thicker atmosphere, Martian would enjoy black body bbq.

You got one thing right. In some billion years down the road, the sun will decide it's waco time.

Dammit man. I'm too good for cartoons and I refuse to read your "science".

And by cartoons, I mean powerpoint-like graphics typically consumed by white collar workers.

It's an amazing coincidence. That's all that should be noted.

England is warmed by the jet stream. Global Warming is supposed to disrupt that. It has always been assumed that global warming would cool England.

London 's latitude is roughly equal to much colder cities like Minsk, Calgary, Warsaw, Lviv and Dresden. It is as mild as it is because of warm jet stream air blowing up from more southerly lattitudes over the oceans, which basically act as heat sinks.
