That's fair, it's certainly something I'm hoping to see too but I just think there are more important things i want to see from him. I view summer league as an opportunity for rookies to show what they can do and for 2nd year guys to show what they've worked on. Let's look at Cam last year in summer league. He was a bit upset that he had to do it since Amen didn't.... which is an attitude fail right from the start. He then went on to look good at the things he already looked good at before quickly gassing out....a full game before the rookie with conditioning questions did, suggesting he didn't take conditioning seriously in the offseason.... just like he didn't take seriously trying to improve on the things he wasn't already good at. That showed a lack of professionalism that put him in the doghouse from day 1.
This is exactly right. Amen had come off those great sessions with the US national team and was trending up. Cam thought SL was beneath him, and things unraveled from there.
I don't really trust the summer league as a litmus test for shooting. He's shot 45% in college and it's shooting relatively well over his last 20-30 games. No matter how well or poorly he shoots in the summer league the other data is much stronger imo. What would make him a backup is if he can't handle the ball as a PG or guard the smallest players on the court. Those are my biggest concerns for his future. Gotta secure his floor before his ceiling.
It is my presumption that the one, singular advantage of SL is the time ‘keepers’ get one-on-one attention. Obviously, a few breakouts occur. But counting on that? Meh.
How many two-ways do the Rox actually have? They are? and, just curious, with Roddy traded and cut, is his type contract situation re-signable? No, I don’t know nada about him. And not that much more about the latest CBA. So, yes, just rules curious on the latter.
Of course Clayton is going to beat the nba champs by himself. I just wished the rockets hired competent scouting talent like myself.
Kasparas Jakucionis is struggling early. He seems about 2 years from being ready. That's what I'm saying about drafts now. You are rarely drafting a producer in the lottery. You are drafting a project that will cost you $15+ million in the first two seasons that you are developing them. Nate Silver wants to decrease the draft age to 20 but this is just idiotic. Let college's and boosters pay for their development. The LeBron James players are very rare. The world can handle not having NBA players enter the league until the age of 20.
I dont understand why the Lakers, Spurs, Utah get a bunch more games than everybody else? They have California Classic and Salt Lake City SL. Why the other teams dont have anything like that?
Then in this case only Devon Harris is signed to a two way right? NFaly Dante still has to fight for that other 2 way slot with Jeenathan Williams and everybody else.
Teams seem to gravitate towards more games in Summer League based on where they are in their rebuild. Lakers are still in some in-between realm of development, and, well, they're the Lakers. Not only is it the California market, it's the global market, as these are the teams that international viewers watch.
Vegas Summer League starts on the 10th. Rockets are one of the 22 teams that are fielding summer league teams only in Vegas.
