and then a watch button will appear by our game. it's free and all that good stuff as long as you sign up with nba.com's membership deal first.

I thought Landry played well. He was doing all the little intangibles to win that won't show up on the boxscore. He did have 7 rebounds. What I have seen out of Landry so far is either big scoring low boards or big boards low scoring. Now all he has to do is figure out how to put it all together.

i am not encouraged by novak's play. i think he would be a wasted roster spot for this season. he should be placed in the NBDL til he shows some NBA capability. i was rooting for the guy but seeing is believing.

Novak looks alot like how Jason Collier did his second year after he added the bulk. It seems like he isn't really used to his body and is a little sluggish. Adding alot of upper body strength quickly can really effect your shot.

Wow, so much for "Sure Shot" Steve Novak. Lots of people said he could do more than shoot threes but that isn't the case so far. All he can is launch three pointers and miss most of them. Honestly, I think Lior brings more offense to the table than Novak. Let's just hope that this is only Summer League. Maybe Novak is not trying his hardest and is saving his real game for the real season?

I thought he had to be on the roster to be protected in the development league. Yes, it would be a real good idea to put him there.

Didn't Novak light it up last year in the SL and preseason? How has he regressed after one full year in the NBA? I think he has completely lost his confidence. Confidence is the most important thing for a shooter.

I see some of that for sure...

Or it could also be this......adding unecessary bulk can hurt your game big time....

Novak is fine. His stroke is too pure for his struggling to continue. He'll get it going. All shooters go through dry spells.

I agree. I think he needs to be given trust and his confidence will come back.

Also, I think he should not overthink on defense...just be more aggressive.

Do you guys notice Novak is playing the center position in all the games and mostly used as a decoy? Okur was pretty good at the 3 points but what happened in the postseason? Banging with Yao took a toll.
He is adding muscles to his body, I guess everybody can see that too. That can affect his touch as well...
With that said, I still think he needs to learn a lot of the offball movements.

novak's shooting is not the problem. it's everything else. he is not loose and fluid. he looks like he doesn't know what to do. that's what worries me.

I don't really think you could say he was playing the center position. He had a C next to his name in the boxscore but Landry was playing more of the center position than Novak. Novak doesn't really have a post game.

The fact he plays Center has no barrings on his offense. If you watch him, all he does is stay on the perimeter, whenever he dribbles he moves side to side along the perimeter then shoots the three. I remember reading articles where he said he's going to start doing more than shoots threes but I don't see anything new. The kid is very one dimensional and whats worst is that his shot isn't even falling. Hopefully he gets his groove back but for those who hated JVG for not playing him, you can see why he sat on the bench most of the year.

Been able to see these last two summer league games live in Vegas, and I have to agree with A_3PO re: Butler's minutes this next season...

In both games, granted Butler didn't play against the Wizards, the Rockets (with Landry and Novak up front) were seriously outmuscled in the paint, giving up offensive rebounds left and right. However, with Butler playing a lot of minutes in the second half of the Kings game, I wouldn't say we dominated the paint, but his presence made it more difficult for the quicker, higher-flying Kings big men (Justin Williams especially) to get boards.

Butler takes up space defensively, and is not a liability offensively as Deke can, more often than not, be. Plus, he can run up and down the floor. The man kept up with AB. He's not all bulk and will be a factor as a back-up for Yao.
