There doesn't need to be competition between Harris and Hayes. Harris can most def play SF for us. Back-up for Shane, and insurance for T-Mac. With a role-player like him, we don't miss a beat.

Chuck Hayes cant even make a WIDE OPEN LAY UP! So I guess Chuck Hayes is a better offensive player

the lack of respect chuck hayes gets is hysterical. i don't know if harris is better or not but he's about the 10th nbdl player i've read someone claim is definitely a better pf then chuck. that's just such a baseless/stupid claim.

does chuck need to manhandle other pf's in the summerleague so people can remember that's he also a good player himself?

According to Feigen, Brad Newley and Carl English left the SL team before the Kings game to join their national teams. That was also Lior's last appearance.

I want Harris to be given a chance to make the 15 man roster but he's a SF and a gamble, ie third option player.

Wow, I thought Butler look pretty good. Were we watching the same game? Kings fell apart when he was in there.

I think it went like this Butler > Hawes > Novak. Novak can't compete at the 5 not even at SL level.

    Harris v Hayes.

    Brooks v Lucas.

I didn't know summer league could be so divisive :D

I doubt Mike Harris is strong enough to guard PFs in the NBA (otherwise there would be no reason to sign Chuck). He's a tweener without a strong offensive game, which is usually a recipe for mediocrity at best. Therefore, the only way he makes the roster is if he can guard SFs in the NBA. I love his athleticism and if he can ever develop a mid-range pull up jumper, he can crack somebody's rotation in the future.

AB looked good again. His skillset on offense looks rock solid to me. What he needs now is experience playing at the NBA level so he can gauge his capabilities. His defense is going to be a major problem. Mike James is our only decent defender at PG.

Landry seemed a little quiet. These games have shown he must move his offense out a few feet and focus more on jumpshots. He got his shot blocked quite a few times when attacking the basket.

Eliyahu just doesn't have enough game to be an NBA player. His athleticism is nothing special in our league.

Ron Lewis just isn't ready. If he can't hit open shots he has no chance. But I love his athleticism he shows flashes of being a very good defender. I could see him becoming a Lindsey Hunter type of player.

Some of you will take offense and call me crazy, but I predict Jackie Butler will play more minutes this upcoming season than Deke.

Did Newley even play tonight? I was disappointed. He isn't ready yet, but was worthy draft choice.

Andre Emmett is nothing more than a good "4A" player. He should go overseas and make a career of it because he will never be good enough to play in the NBA.

Hayes critics generally fall into two categories:

    1. Fantasy basketball geeks who reads stats sheets and determined that Mo Taylor was a better PF back in his days.

    2. Men with extremely small penises, who feel the need to tell their friends "My PF is bigger than your PF" in order to compensate.

That must be why he shot over 50% last season. In fact that must be why he had the highest shot percentage on the team last season.

Here are the facts, Harris as a SF has more natural athleticism and better shooting touch than Chuck... Chuck as a PF has a better rebounding instinct and BBall IQ than Harris. If I had my druthers both would be on the team next season because honestly both are hustling type of players who come into a game and make an impact.

Saying that Chuck has no offense is wrong... and saying that Harris has no defense is wrong. Both have upside on both ends of the court because of their determination to do well.

Okay wasn't this thread about the summer league game against the kings... How about the hops on Aaron Brooks???

Hawes is only 19. he does not have a good understanding of the game, yet.
Butler looked out of shape, slow, but with lots of experince.

    Eliyahu needs to bulk up.

Newley didn't play, he'd already left for Australia.

Actually he can create for himself on the block, but in JVG's system he was never asked to. He was asked to cut and float. He isn't someone who can slash and drive to create, but with his back to the basket he can create.

Is offense really that important on a team that has MJ, TMac, Yao, AB, etc...?

Comparing Harris to Hayes right now is ridiculous...specially when you are talking about the 4 spot alongside Yao.

I knew the kid could dunk. Look at his elevation on his jump shot, probably gets as high up as someone 6'4". His hands are too small though, so don't expect any tomahawks or windmills from AB.

Love what I have seen of AB in SL but it seems like every offseason the new guys (Swift, Novak) seem like a bright spot but wind up disappointing. Hope his play translates to the next level.

I can believe that. Every now and then, he'd show a nifty post up move.

Agree, Harris's competition would be Kirk.
