Rookie minimum for 06-07 is about 400K. As for anyone holding out, international players do this, although I wouldn't say it's technically holding out, they just decide not to come over. Which is what V-span is doing, until we can figure out a way to toss some more money his way.

I wouldn't be worried about Novak getting a better deal. All the Rox need to do is make his second year guaranteed. A second year minimum in 07-08 will be almost 700K. An unheralded rookie like Novak isn't going to get any better offers overseas than a million dollar contract.

    Salary figures from CBA Faq

Hayes had only 6 rebounds :( , but damn Lucas and Novak look good. Nobody is talkin bout Carrol but he looks like a deadly shooter too!!! :)

More domination by JL3, Novak and Carroll. Hayes and Novak gotta learn how to play defense without fouling. This was a problem for Hayes last season.

Yeah what's up with this Carroll guy 9-14 yesterday and 9-15 today. I tried to find more info own him and it's like he didn't exist last year. His draft bio wasn't to appealing. I did read he was on our summer league team last year but I don't remember him. He was drafted by the Albany CBA team but didn't play. I'm thinking he took the year off, shot 500 3's a day, worked out with his brother and lifted weights. I did read his brother is a gym rat and that work ethic earned him a spot on the bobcats and I am thinking he must be the same.

Yeah Caroll's shooting 62.1 FG% compared to to Novak's 55.6 FG%. Novak is leading in 3 pt FG% at 60% compared to Caroll's 55.6%. Be nice if both of these guys could keep it up. We know Novak will make the team for the most part, but Caroll has looked really good so far. If the Rockets don't play him some one else will.

    Two things:

    1. I like the fact that he is a 6-10, meaning he can get his shot off well and... size means a lot.

    2. I enjoyed this part the most when reading the summary:

Great recognition and understanding of spacing and getting his shots.

I'm glad Steve Novak & JL3 are doing well & hope will make the team! I didn't think Novak would last in the 2nd rd, I thought he would go late in the 1st. I hope he will be our sharp shooter off the bench to keep yao from being harassed by 2, 3, or sometimes 4 defenders! :)

Hard to get more than 6 rb's when the team is shooting 60% and Harry@$$ also is getting 6.....

But Hayes was 3 of 3 shooting. Just wondering if anything is more than a layup or putback. But those are not bad - not when the rest of the team last year could not hit a layup standing on a ladder.....

5 to's but that is probably the pain of learning to play with Lucas and the rest of this offensive unit. Learn Chucky learn! Get ready to play down low with Yao again.

Yeah the guys that are posting the reports from draft express are actually retyping it out for all of you. That's pretty cool.

HOLY CRAP!!! Novak - 20 points 7 minutes

If that's accurate playing time...this guy sounds like a scoring machine...a la Steve "I'm On The Spurs' Jock" Kerr.

Come on. No freaking way Novak played 7 minutes. That's obviously a typo. It was probably 27 or 37 minutes.
