Nah no one was trading. Indy tried to trade up to 10 but in this draft the cost of moving up was more than just a late 1st.
If ur doing the GA tix... id rec getting there at least a game earlier than the Rox - if ur not planning on doing all day. Scout out the seating... the prime lower level stuff will be reserved so you may wanna walk around a bit to decide your best vantage point... it used to be great to have sharpies at the ready for autos - nowadays its just a few scheduled signing windows for select guys - but u may wanna look at that - in case Amen or Cam is signing and ur interested... Usual snack bar fare will be available... everything will be overpriced for what it is... lol
Jay Huff looks interesting. Should be dirt cheap. Older, hopefully has maturity. Won't pout on the bench. Lead G League in blks, 3.1 a game. Actually hit 40% of his 3pt attempts. Has had a cup of coffee in the league. At very least, good for 6 hard fouls for teams taking advantage of the Rockets lack of rim protection. No to Boban and Kaminsky.
I have the feeling we're gonna have one of the best Summer League squads with Wemby not playing and us trotting out Jabari, Tari, Amen, and Cam. That's a lot of "top 10 in the draft" caliber talent running out there with two of them already having a year in the NBA under their belts.
Jabari went from supposed best player in the draft sure fire top pick to playing in summer league his sophomore year. Oof. Hopefully this lights a fire under him.
AFAIK Ivey, Duren, Jalen Williams, and probably others (including Tari) are all playing Summer League. Of course Chet is playing, but yeah he's a special case either way. I think Banchero and Walker Kessler are on the FIBA team, or else *maybe* they'd play (OK maybe not Banchero).
Tickets are $45 but with fees it cost me $135 for 2. Definitely worth it if you're staying all day like I am.
Wait, isn't Justin Johnson the cousin of some Clutchfans poster? @Roc Paint? Or am I confusing something.
It's really up to the players most time. Some players are just there to play basketball. My guess is Jabari just wants to play, I doubt he's playing to prove he deserves minutes or something. In reality Summerleague shouldn't even be for top draft picks that are 100% going to be on the team, should be mainly for guys trying to make a team.
Jay Huff on our summer league roster? He fits a need if he can prove it. Big, long, athletic shot blocker who can shoot from 3 well and be a lob threat
