Great half from Jabari. I’m convinced it’s a mental game for him — some of those midrange shots looked so smooth and then others just look too mechanical. 48 minutes of FVV and Amen at the point will be so big for him. Tari Eason was Tari Eason. He looks like he might be a little more explosive this year. He had a little too much tunnel vision at times, but you take that with the rest of his game. Cam Whitmore settled down a bit, but he was largely out of control. His handle needs a bit more work, but he’s got a good off the bench scorer profile. Amen was phenomenal. That might be the most poise I’ve seen from a first game in a while. He’s just such a smooth athlete. Even when Scoot was going off, he didn’t get rattled. He made every tight of winning play - passing, rebounding, put backs, blocks, steals. He even posted up and had a great kick out pass.
Yes, she has that irritating voice tone...always has since the the start of the WNBA. I just turned the sound off.
I do not think Wemby's handle is going to translate to the league. I just can't see a 7'5" dude facing up and crossing over anyone in this league, like its cute to see him do it but I doubt its effective.
Looks like Wemby is gonna be Mobley with a better offensive game. That's pretty scary, but still no Lebron lol. He ain't dominating the league and leading the Sours to the playoffs in his rookie year imo.
Wemby is making an impact on D, but his offensive game will take some time. He and Chet are going to struggle against grown a$$ men who play in the nba
Yeah he's still very likely to be a great player but my guess is he's going to realize quickly he can't face up and take guys off the dribble. That's just not happening in this league. His defense and passing have been great though.
The way they talk, you'd think Wemby has a line of 15 pts on 5-7 shooting/2-3 on 3's, 10 rebs, and 5 blocks in the first half. In reality his line is 5 pts on 1-7 shooting/0-3 on 3's, 5 rebs, and 3 blocks. The best thing I've seen in this game is Kareem being interviewed while wearing the Kareem vs. Bruce shirt with a cover of Chaka Khan's Ain't Nobody playing in the background.
Doris called out Miller and Wemby's first half stat line like it was impressive, lol The crowd didn't know the Scoot/Amen matchup was going to be more fun than this one
I looked at that graphic they put up and saw 2-8 shooting and 1-7 shooting. lol. I was like, let's talk about other players in this game. So they start talking about other players and then ... what they think of Wemby. Give me a damn break. LOL. I think Wemby's going to be good if he stays healthy, though.
