There are multiple summer leagues for NBA players -- always has been. The Aug 8th summer league the Rockets are in is the MGM/Las Vegas Summer League (the big one). The ones going on now are the Salt Lake City and the Cali Classic. These 2 only have a few teams in it and last a couple of days.
Kuminga is ATHLETIC. Still only 18! He already has a man’s body. Going to get bigger and stronger. Could be scary if he puts it all together.
Yeah I didnt understand why he received so much hate tbh. The kid skipped senior yr HS and went directly to GLeague of course he would play bad. Even this year he should be in Banchero's class just going to attend first year in college and not about to play his first year in the NBA. Dude is actually quite advanced for his age group not sure how Holmgrem would perform in GLeague as a high school junior.
im so jealous of Golden state. The rich get richer. They got two of the best prospects in the draft this year and Weismann last year. On top of their HOF trio, and now guys like Otto Porter are taking less to chase rings with them. That’s a dark horse team to come out of the west.
I think he is still really raw as a player, and his offensive performance in g-league was very subpar - 39/25/63 splits on TS 50%. FT% is a pretty good indicator of how well players will shoot in the NBA, so all signs point to him needing a lot of work to become a half-way decent 3 point threat. But that's also why he is the 7th pick compared to Green. Night and day difference between the two in performance - Green took less shots, scored more points, and shot 46/37/82 on TS 61% in the g-league. He's also only 8 months older than Kuminga. It's no wonder that a lot of people say the top 3 guys in this year's draft would be 1st picks in other drafts, because the drop off after 3 is pretty massive.
6 months ago i thought kuminga was the best prospect available, but his shot still needs a lot of work. otherwise he’s like a modern era lamar odom (without the crazy)
Honestly it feels like ages since I've seen Rockets basketball, I'm having serious withdrawals. Literally anything like a 2 min team practice clip would do me wonders. I feel like the Rockets media team is non-existent compared to other young teams. How are you going to attract a younger fanbase if you aren't constantly outputting content in this day and age? Their youtube channel barely has any videos and when they do, they're always short clips filled with a bunch of fillers.
I just saw a story on his Instagram account that indicates he is still in Spain. I guess he hasn't had a vacation this summer and he needs some rest.
Cavs getting ready for us. Mobley. Those passes. Where are the Rockets practice clips? Throw us a bone lol.
Sigh. I'm just going to assume Green hasn't made a shot yet in practice so they have nothing to show us. Prove me wrong Rockets!
