    3 Rockets on that list.

4 if @tinman is ever granted his wish.

No Pistons, Cavs, Magic, Raptors, etc.

Why are you laughing? DMO was playing great, had great size, and could shoot the three. Injury ruined his career. It could happen to anyone, including Alpe. I think Alpe projects to be much better, but you should at least explain why his comments are worthy of laughing at. Used to have some respect for your opinions, but you have turned into an absolute jerk.

I liked DMo, but that was a huge illogical reach by that poster.

DMo had a chance to be a decent rotation player but was always outplayed by the smaller less skilled but more athletic and more clutch Terrence Jones.

The Dmo vs. Jones debates were epic on CF.

And I was a DMo fan.

But even I knew that DMo was never going to be a key piece on championship contending team.

He was a poor defender, poor + inconsistent 3ball shooter, poor rim protector, poor FT shooter and poor rebounder.

Only thing he could do above average was score in the post.

And Rockets had better scorers and Rockets system was outside-in.

DMo was an ill fit for modern basketball peroliod - his job was to fit his game to modern game but he just couldn't or was unwilling to do so.

This was all before his back injury and then his stupidity in turning down Rockets offer believing there were better offers for a big coming off back surgery.

Yes, I scoff at the take that only reason DMo did not have a long PRODUCTIVE career was simply due to his back injury.

His back has been completely fine for YEARS now.

So where is this long NBA career? Nevermind a productive one.

OK. And I get your point here, but to play devil's advocate, how many guys in league history could we have said that about? DMo had his chances and didn't become anything. And his one good season in 2014-15, he was basically an average NBA player by most advanced metrics, averaging 12/6/2 in 28 minutes a game. Not exactly eye-popping numbers. I remembered that version of DMo and thinking he was going to be something, but if that was the best he ever got in a season where Dwight missed half the year and the Rockets had little offensive talent outside of James—that's not much.

I know he'll always be a Rockets favorite because of his skillset and the potential we always saw in him that he never reached, but I think it's fair to say CF thinks a little too highly of DMo given what he actually produced in his time as a Rocket. For what it's worth, my wife thought he was hot, though, and was bummed when I told her he was gone. So he has that going for him I guess...

I've been a Rockets fan since the 90's, seen scores of good players. Dmo was an average one at very best. Get your panties untwisted already, his best season he averaged 12 pts 6 rebs on 28 mins. That isn't a top flight big man. Sorry to burst your bubble, nobody in the real world outside of your echo chamber thinks Dmo was anything special in the slightest. Get over it already, he wasn't even good in China ffs.

When did I say he would be a top flight big man? I said he would have a long career... Above average starter. Nothing about being a all-star. He was definitely heading in that direction at 24 years of age.

That team had a good offensive rating and won 55 games with DMo essentially being the second option for most of the season.

Because of Harden and the fact that they were shooting like 5-6 more 3-pointers than every other team in the league. Not because of DMo's 12 points a game. That's not to say DMo wasn't a major contributor that season. He absolutely was. But he was just a pretty good player who shined in one season as a competent starter surrounded by mostly role-playing defensive 3 and D guys. That's it.

Also the "good offensive rating" that season of 107 was best for 12th best in the league. That was the lowest of all eight seasons Harden was in Houston both in number and overall rank.

You literally called it a stupid take. Your take is absolutely idiotic. You confronted me over a barely decent, average player, who never made it anywhere in any league, and tried to call ME stupid. Self awareness is something you should look into. Dmo was a step above trash. His career statistics support my view a lot more than yours.

He definitely wasn't a step above trash trajectory before his back injuries.

DMo's 12 ooh isn't indicative of the half the season he replaced Dwight as a starter. He played much better towards the end of the season before injuries.

So I actually looked up his splits for that season, and he peaked as a 14/6/2/1 guy in January of 2015. As a starter that season, he averaged 13/6/2/1. There was no extended stretch where DMo was averaging 20/10 over a two-month span or anything like that. He was who he was, which was just a pretty good, fairly skilled offensive player on a team who didn't have that many offensive weapons.

But I gotta ask, dude. Are you related to DMo or something? Are you actually DMo? I just don't understand why anyone would fight so hard for a guy who peaked six years ago in a thread talking about the current crop of players, many of whom are likely to end up with longer, better careers. Like why did I just waste five minutes looking up DMo stats from six and a half years ago when we could be talking about this exciting new group of players?
