Great point. Mutombo was also a huge part of Philadelphia's 2001 NBA Finals team. Joey dorsey is yet to play any significant minutes in an NBA game, and it is a tad bit premature to suggest that he is better than Deke. Lets see what he can do in his career that hasn't really started yet.

he couldn't get rebounds because Dorsey was hogging them all ;)

I don't think he got many of those at all. Not worried about his passing though. Maybe his rebounds. I just think 70 percent shooting is pretty sick.

I told you guys Budinger looks like a better pickup than JT. I hope he makes the rotation and becomes our 6th man!

How many of his college games did you watch? I saw them all, including the ones he played his freshman year and sophomore year when he was trying to play through three different injuries.

The kid has been underestimated by a lot of people. He will do just fine in the regular season... he has better handles than advertised, he can drive to the basket more effectively than people give him credit for, and his jumpshot is often money.

John Lucas 3 = Summer league all star

Jodie - solid off the bench guy, 8th or 9th guy in a rotation... his only disadvantage is height at the sg position.

Here is my overall summary of the Summer League. I only listed a few players because they are the ones who really impressed me.

Chase Budinger - Showed a lot of talent when he played. Lead team with with FG% of 68%. Also led the team in 3FG% at 72%, and FT% at 94%. I know it's SL, but those are some impressive numbers. Has a ton of athleticism, and moves very well without the ball. Desperately needs to improve his D to take his game to an even higher level. Could become special player for us in the future, or as part of a trade. Tons of talent here. :)

Joey Dorsey - Impressive rebounding numbers, even though that is about the only thing he did. Also, averaged 2.6 blocks per game. He shot for a good %, but needs to improve on the free throw %. Needs to stay out of foul trouble, and also needs to make better decisions with and without the ball. Still very impressed with the rebounds. :D

Maarty Leunen - Showed that he can shoot pretty well from the field, and from 3 point land. Not enough to become a star player, but can become a key role player for us in near future. He still averaged 5.4 rebounds even with Dorsey getting the majority. Doesn't make too many mistake

A couple of other guards like Will Conroy and Brad Newley also played well. I know the stats don't impress very much, but they did all the little things right like boxing out, and finding an open man. Conroy was tied for most assists on the team with Dorsey ( ). Neither were turnover machines but could still improve on decisions.

The other guys also impressed with other aspects of the game. Good to know that our young guys are developing well and learning to play as a team. Hope to see some of them in Rocket Red this year. :D

One thing I'd like to know though is why Hassan Adams and Rob Benson not get any minutes to show what they can do. If I were either of them I'd be mad at the coaching staff because I just wasted my chance to get a callup from an NBA team.

I only followed Adams time in NJ marginally, but I thought he had NBA game - doubt he could help us - but thought he should be in the league somewhere.

I think The Yoyo posted that Hassan Adams was maybe a late scratch cause he wasn't even on the bench during the games.. Benson got time.. he blew open layups..

That is to say he might take up a roster spot and end up a cheaper Von Wafer lite next season, if by any chance Von heads to the the Phoenix.

Not good offensively, and decent defensively, but as an athlete he didn't stand out, and I expected he would.

    And his shot....is UGLY !
