Greene had one really good game last year.

Brooks torched the summer league last year, almost looked like he was just toying with them.

One thing is for sure, our team is going to do a ton of running this year.

Couldn't have said it any better DD. Budinger has that certain smoothness that really impresses me. It looks like he plays with so much confidence. I'm very excited to see his future. I've said it before and i'll say it again. He can become a very special player for us.

I refuse to call him Air Bud. That name has a special place in my heart.

Wasn't it Divac instead of Miller?

I can't remember if Taylor talked about it, but Budinger definitely acknowledged the possibility and said that he was willing to do it.

If the team refuses to release, doesn't the team hold his rights forever unless the player stops playing professionally for a year (which would severely hurt his stock and game for the next year when he tries to come back)? Or are there different rules for US players? Doesn't seem like the players have much of a choice.

No way they let Chase play overseas for a year, he is too good at running the Adelman offense.....the team needs players like that to compete without Yao and Tmac...

Agreed. Espeically, we have two defensive wing players (Battier and Ariza), and need one who has good offense ability.

That is why I wanted Von, but I like Budinger's game more.....howerver, Von has done it against NBA competition, so it is sort of a toss up..

    Sidenote...

    DD,

You need to get some sponsor to donate like 10 cents every time you post to charity like they used donated money every time Hakeem got a block. Make it like a postathon or something...

    Chase Budinger, F G 3, GS 1, MPG 21.7, FG% .633, 3p% .500, FT% .857, OFF 1.0, DEF 1.7, RPG 2.7, APG 1.0, SPG 0.7, BPG 0.0, TO 1.33, PF 1.00, PPG 15.7

Really like what I am seeing from him. His first 12 minutes of the first half he scored 12 points in 12 minutes, shooting 67%. They rested him most of the second half and brought him in when Portland took the lead and he hit a clutch three to get the Rockets back in it.

Bud seems very confident with the ball under pressure, moves well without the ball, and is clutch from FT line. Saw at least one steal and he was active on the boards.

James White ... looks like he has very little confidence. His shooting was off. Not looking good for him IMO.

Taylor is showing some promise, but has not been as efficient as Bud.

You guys are certainly getting my hopes up :D

My point was Chase and most likely Taylor were told before SL that they weren't locks to make the roster, and Europe was a possibility. So I don't want to hear this stuff about "Taylor will make the roster this season even if he is behind Von because they spent 2mil on him" etc. If he makes it, it's because they see enough talent, not because they don't want to look bad.

About having to convince the players, as I wrote in my response to worzel, I don't think the players have a choice. They can't play on another NBA team unless Houston relinquishes their rights or trades them. If they could just get out of their obligation to Houston, I'm sure Leunan would've done that by now to try and stick with another NBA team.

Another Summer league victory. Hope they can carry this success to the regular season. The Rockets seem to love the summer leagues. Their record the past years have been very impressive.
