St. John My wife and I were married there two years ago. Beautiful small island. The beaches and ocean literally look like a postcard. Great snorkeling. You can charter sailboats to explore. Few travel hassles, and no passport needed b/c it's a U.S. territory. Our wedding ceremony was on the beach here-
I got ya covered. I would fly to San Francisco, stay 2-3 days, then rent a car and drive to Lake Tahoe for another 2-3 days. It's beautiful, the weather is much cooler, and there is plenty to do in both places. I don't know if you are a golfer, but I enjoy playing the courses in Lake Tahoe, plus you can fish for freshwater salmon in the lake itself. Unlike Vegas, there is more to do in Lake Tahoe than gamble, drink, eat, and see shows. The scenery is spectacular. The drive will take you 2.5-3 hours.
The wife and I are heading up to Maine the week of July 8th - 15th. We'll be staying at a cabin we've rented before on Moosehead Lake! It's absolutely stunning! And totally secluded (naked lake swimming and sun bathing)! The only neighbors are the Moose. The people we rent from are very cool! Here's a few pics the cabin the dock the lake the lake II We can't wait!
Is that the cabin you and Mrs. mc mark are going to stay at? If I wander into there (the week before your trip), I'll make sure I leave on the front porch some mark, like "wnes was here."
Great suggestions all.....and MC Mark, We are seriously conisdering that EXACT spot from July 7th-12th...weird... DD
It was awesome. It was only my wife and my daughter at that ceremony. We had a second ceremony for our families at Lake Tahoe (my wife is from California) a few months later. Tahoe was also beautiful, but not like St. John.
