back in high school, i used to devour chick-fil-a sandwiches... it helped that i had a major crush on one of their cashiers, who was in one of my classes. ;)

Here here! Or demand that their employees have white skin. Or demand that they are all male. What has happened to our nation?

    The Equal Rights Act.

You can't hire, fire, promote, demote, or discipline.... on the basis of race, sex, color, national origin, or disability.

I don't think R03 lives in Southwest Houston.

Thank you. I haven't gotten the fascination with the place, either. Maybe I never tried their good stuff.

I used to work at a Chick-Fil-A, and it really doesn't surprise me that something like this would happen. That's just the way most of their managers, from experience, operate.

And it may be their downfall, in this case.

I say if someone wants to artifically limit their access to the talent pool, then we should let them. But that really isn't what I was talkking about. Presumably he was fired because he did not take part in a mandatory activity, noit because he was not a Christian. Requiring an action is a bit different than requiring skin color or gender, as those are parts of who we are and things over which we have little control. To illustrate my point, what if I was working at Microsoft as a programmer, and I told them it was against my religion to use a computer? Would they have to keep me on and keep paying me despite the fact that I was not participating in an activity that the management made mandatory? Obviously there is a difference as prayer has nothing to do with his other job requirements, but both are instances of religion conflicting with what we are told to do by our employers.

What if the action that was mandatory was that you had to be black? This is an obvious case of religious discrimination, if true, and that is clearly illegal.

I'm with you, RM95....with the key phrase being, "if true." Somehow I just doubt it. I just can't imagine today someone telling an employee they have to pray in the name of Jesus Christ to keep their job. I'm not saying that it didn't happen...but as an attorney, I've learned to be REAL skeptical of the claims of plaintiffs who walk through my door. Usually the truth is somewhere in between.

I live in Clear Lake. The only one close to my house is in Baybrook Mall, which is like 7 miles from my house. And like I said I dont want to walk inside a mall to pick up food.

What the ****? In the name of business competition, you would be totally cool if there were to be classified ads in the job section that said 'no Irish/blacks/dogs/women need apply'? *Really*?

Just use the words. Don't try to outwit the profanity filter, please.

And yes, I am well aware I don't catch this every single time people do it. I change it on the occasions I do catch it.

I would add that but only silly non-Amer'kins use it. Same for "toss off," "bloody", and "a bit of the ol' in-and-out".

Besides, the Philly Cheese Steak and that Burbon Chicken in the Baybrook Mall food court put Chick-Fil-A to shame...
